The KitchenAid mixer switch shorted out and blew GFI
Hi.You could do the removal and replacement with new parts your self, if you are so inclined. Goto the kitchenaid website, do a search for your model #. If you don't know your model # use K45SSWH. Click on Manuals & Guides, look for the parts file and download the exploded drawings for the mixer. I've never opened one of these models so you'll have to do a logical dis-assembly starting with the first piece you remove. Best case is to take digital pictures of everything you remove. Lay these parts on a piece of cardboard in order of removal. Only remove the parts necessary to get to your problem. You will surely find some burned wiring, maybe some melted metal in the switch area. Determine what parts you need to replace, and order them soon. Experience dictates a wait of at least a month for your parts to arrive once they've been ordered. The pictures will come in real handy in a month's time. If you find that this solution has assisted you please rate it. Good luck! ricardok45
