If it was dropped the zoom motor mechanisim is out of alignment and must be brought in to a camera shop for repair, the only thing you can do is change out the battery and cross your fingers that it will start working ok again.

SOURCE: Says zoom error

Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

Hope the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance.

How do i fix the camera from saying zoom error, plus, my lens is stuck.

The problem could possibly be the plastic pin that the focus lens, inside the lens unit, uses as a guide has snapped off and is now jamming the lens.
I have found that if you replace the original pin instead of trying to repair it you will get better results and the problem does not happen again if you use a metal pin of the same size.

Zoom lens is stuck

This is a very common problem. This is either caused by something jammed in zoom, or the firmware needs to be updgraded which is common also.

A805 zoom error, lens won't move

Screw driver for these screws is a "Tri-wing" screwdriver. Source them on ebay.
The only way to solve your problem correctly is to dismantle it and clean it thoroughly. Tapping or knocking your camera may only solve you problem short term and I would never recomend this as a "fix" some say it works others don't but what ever is causing it will cause it again unless rectified.
BECAREFULL of electric shock once you have the casing apart. Removing the batteries does not render it safe. The flash will be charged and will give quite a nip if you touch the board or components.
The A800 has a plastic pin which the focus lens is guided on inside and this snaps off and jams the lens. your A805 could be similar

Whenever I open my camera, it says zoom error

Your lens is jammed. you need to strip your camera down to access and remove the lens unit. BECAREFULL of electric shock. your camera will still have charge in the flash unit and you will recieve quite a shock if you touch the board or any components inside. You will also have to purchase a "tri-wing" screw driver for the case screws. These can be sourced on ebay.
Don't rush with your lens unit, it is likely that it has damage to the sliding assembly due to the impact. take your time and don't use excessive force. your lens will only dissassemble once it is in the retracted position so patients is required to free it off otherwise more, if not terminal, damage will result. Try and use another camera to photograph each stage of dissassembly to aid reassembly later. You will need :
small cross head screw driver
tweezers, pointed prefferably
Tri-wing screwdriver for the security screws
Soldering iron with no more than a 1mm tip and some solder and solder braid for desoldering.
If you discover broken plastic inside your lens or too much damage then I may be able to help you out with either spares or help with repairing

Can't take a picture or zoom out

Lens needs to be removed and repaired. sounds like the plastic pin which is used as a guide for the zoom drive thread has broken (common fault) replace with a metal rod of the same size. I've replaced a few with parts from other camera drive gear pins

If the "!ZOOM ERROR" message is displayed on the digital camera, switch the camera off and on again 2 or 3 times.
If this does not clear the error, take the camera to your nearest FUJIFILM Service Station for testing and repairs. Problem may caused by lens zooming gears stuck.

The lens on your camera has become stuck due to being dropped, contamination such as sand, or a malfunction within the lens. If gently manipulating the lens itself does not free it then you will need to get it professionally repaired or replace the camera. David Millier Advance Camera Repair
