It's your backlight adapter. You will have to open up the monitor to get to the backlight board and redo some soldering and maybe replace the four transistors. I just did a google search for the name of the monitor and there are plenty of posts out there to help. I had the same issue with my monitor. I redid about 15 or 20 solder joints and that fixed it. There transisters cost about $5 on ebay if the resoldering doesn't work. The problem is what is called cold solder joints. These are used in mass production circuitry, which is why so many electronics go out. These joints are a dull gray and hot solder joints are a shiny silver, these should be replaced, but just google the name of the monitor name and you should see plenty of others that had the same issues years ago.

Check the ac adapter. I think you will find the power adapter is switching on and off. The adapters on this model have an issue that causes your type of problem. You can break the seal on the adapter and open it up and replace dead parts but then you can't seal it back up right. We carry he adapters, let me know if you need one.
