We see this all the time. You tried the best test. So, it is the audio jack. Common failure. They can be repaired by a competent tech at a repair shop. VERY difficult to replace on your own. The part is cheap, the labor is high because Motorola does not want you (or us) working on those radios. Motorola has a flat rate around $115 (ouch) and our shop averages less than that, but they were not designed to be worked on. Next radio, contact us for a more repairable model. Free advice.

1) Be certain the radio is shut off when plugging in the audio device.
2) On most units, press the PTT button to turn off the VOX feature.
3) If you are not planning to use VOX. Turn the VOX feature off. Follow the programming instructions which came with the radio.
Hope this helps.

1) You can try the manual reset by pressing the PTT, SB1 and SB2 simultaneously for 3 seconds while turning the radio on. Then reconnect the radio to your computer and try reading the radio. If you are able to read the radio, you can then reprogram the radio.
2) If the above does not work, try cloning a known good codeplug (saved archive of another good unit) into the radio without reading it first.
3) If none of the above work, your radio will need to be seen by Motorola or an authorized dealer with knowledge of the RDX series.
Best regards.

Hi, actually I think you have answered your own query... in that the BT headsets, well NOT ALL, are NOT compatible with the Radios.
Usually if they do not "Just work" then they never will.
There are however ones that DO work, my advice is to contact Motorola and ask them for advise on exactly which ones will work.

Likely not compatible. One thing to try is to make certain the transmitting unit is turned OFF when you initially plug in the headset. Sometimes if a headset is plugged into a radio when it is already ON, the headset will appear to be in VOX (voice activated) mode and will not allow the user to receive. Also, if this headset has an inline PTT, it may not be compatible with the radio and you would need to use the PTT on the radio.
If this doesn't work, you would need to use the TalkAbout headset designed for the MR350.
Best regards.
