The timer motor or timed contacts have failed. Must replace the timer unit for your model.

Kenmore dryer 90 series

Since no model number was given, check to see if you have a setting commonly noted as "wrinkle guard", "wrinkle shield", "press care" or something to that affect. Those settings will run the dryer for as much as 90 min after a completed drying cycle to prevent wrinkles in clothing, allowing you time to remove the cloths after a dry cycle if you are busy. Replace both coils on the burner valve . After heating up , they will not open to let gas thru again until cooled down for a short period of time . With no heat , timer will not cut off unless set for timed dry .

My dryer will not shut off when it is in the timed dry and there is also no heat for any of the different cycles.

If the dryer will not cut off in the timed dry , then the timer is bad . However , there can be no connection between not cutting off on timed setting AND no heat (unless the timer happened to burn up inside ) which would be unusual .

We have a Kenmore Elite gas clothes dryer (110.73952101). It will not completely dry large loads. We have to reset timer and restart the dryer. If we set timer for 40 minutes, dryer may run for 10 minutes...

Loads may be too large. Also when you reset and restart, the heat overload is cutting out. If your discarge is kinked or not venting properly this will cause it not to dry as well. Also check your lint screen. Good Luck!

Whirlpool dryer model LER7646EQ1

Thats what it's supposed to do hopefully the clothes are coming out dry. The dryer has both thermal sesors and fuses that tell the dryer when to heat up and when to cool down. So yes the heating element will come on and go off multiple times in a cycle.

Magic Chef Gas Dryer # YG225LV

VT,

The dryer is clogged disconnect the exhaust hose(usually a 3-4 inch thin spring like tube) from the back of the dryer and clean out the entire thing disconnect it from the window (I imagine this is what you have it connected through?) and make sure all lint is removed and then reattach. Also make sure you don't have to much slack going from the machine to the window. Cut any access hose off. It should go the shortest possible path no big loops or sags! After this it should heat up like you just pulled it out of the box.
