For Danze Sheriton/Plymouth tub/shower faucet, I am finishing the wall with ceramic tile and have set plumbing so plastic guard face will be flush with finished tile. One drawing in the instructions shows...

Don't cover area where plastic guard should be. Make it flush. Some trim is designed to recess into the wall before it's flush. Screws, adapters, trim etc. all will need to be installed when tile is set. Make sure you have nipples extending out from shower head and spout area's as well. If you do this and think ahead a little, you will have fewer problems assembling trim.

Cut the tip off the tube of caulk, and load the fresh tube into the caulking gun. Puncture the seal inside the tip of the tube using a nail, stiff wire or the special puncturing tool built onto many caulk guns.

  2. 2

Insert backer rod into large openings. These foam strips are available in sizes ranging from 3/8 inch to over 1 inch, and should be perfect for most bathroom filler needs. For larger holes, consider using a foam spray filler, but be careful as the foam expands a great deal and could overflow onto your work area if too much is used.

  3. 3

Caulk the joints as you normally would. For large cracks, don't force your caulking into the crevice, but simply form a bead over the crack. Use multiple beads and a caulking tool or piece of scrap lumber to shape the caulk and remove excess.

  4. 4

Allow the caulk to dry for 4 to 6 hours. Using the tip of your utility knife, check that the caulk adhered to all edges and formed a seal. For really large cracks, it may be necessary to repeat the process.

  5. 5

When caulking open cracks, place a bead along each edge of the crack. Allow the caulk to set for 5 minutes, and apply a third bead over the first two. Use the damp sponge to shape and remove excess caulk.

  • Disconnect the negative battery cable from the Jeep Cherokee battery with the 10 mm wrench.
  • 2 Remove the five screws on the top edge of the dash panel with a Phillips-head screwdriver.
  • 3 Pry the trim panels surrounding the climate control knobs away from the dashboard with the trim panel removal tool.
  • 4 Remove the trim panel that surrounds the headlamp switches (located to the left of the steering column) with a trim panel removal tool.
  • 5 Remove the two screws behind the trim panel that surrounds the headlamp controls with a Phillips-head screwdriver.
  • 6 Pull the dash panel that surrounds the stereo and covers the instrument panel of the Cherokee, away from the dashboard by hand.
  • 7 Remove the two screws from the stereo mounting bracket. One screw is on the bottom left corner, the other screw is on the top right corner. Each screw can be removed with the 10 mm socket and drive.
  • 8 Pull the factory stereo from the stereo mounting dock.

  • 11 Replace dash panel that stretches across the top of the steering column.
  • 12 Replace the two screws at the top of the headlamp control switch. Replace the trim panel around the headlamp switch.
  • 13 Replace the trim panel that surrounds the climate control knobs.

My GE monogram has white panels, and I want to change them to stainless steel. Where can I buy them, and do I need a special trim kit? Thank you!

The model number that you referenced appears to be a stainless steel model. I know of no trim kits available.

Some of the older models did have door trim kits available.

Model PSS26MSRSS should be a stainless steel model unless this is the wrong number.

You can call the GE answer center at 800-626-2000 and get the information you need.
