The tv doesn't respond to remote commands. I've change the batteries. I get a slow response then nothing for a few minutes. Can't even turn volume up or down

The tv is only few months old. It doesn't respond to the remote. The red light is clear of dust and it moves. But doesn't follow commands, if I let it rest a few minutes it might change a channel, the batteries are new also.

Check the remote control for its infrared emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check it by pressing all the keys. You can detect the presence of infra-red emission from the remote control, using a cell-phone camera. If you wish to get more details about how to check a remote control, please visit this site. One among the posts has details about it. Surf the site with patience. In some cases, the remote control might need to clean.

Septre tv will not turn off.

HI Elizabeth, generally a TV not turning off, volume not working ect on both the remote and buttons is caused by a button that's stuck closed, this will kill the remote in most cases as well. If you're able remove the back and unhook the connector going to the button cluster, then use the remote, I think you will find the remote works then, if you need the buttons on the set you can generally find a button cluster online for under $10

Tv is not responding to remote control commands unless you get within a few feet of TV sensor.

Check the voltage of the batteries in the remote control. If it is weak, this kind of fault can occur. Check the remote control for its infrared emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check it by pressing all the keys. You can detect the presence of infra-red emission from the remote control, using a cell-phone camera. Bush lcd42f1080p100hz remote will not turn tv on

I had come home about a week ago and pushed the power button from my remote but my tv did not respond. So I just went to the front panel and pushed power but once the tv turned on, the volume was on full blast! I used the front panel volume decrease to get the volume down, but when I stopped pushing the button, the tv increased its volume to full blast again by itself! Naturally I just turned the tv off for a few moments. I tried the remote again, no response again, so I used the panel power button. The tv volume was still full blast when it turned on but after I decreased the volume it stayed this time. The picture is and has been perfectly fine and the tv was working fine. The next day the problem started all over and now once we turned it off from frustration of having to manually use the panel to change channels, it now will not turn on at all. I have changed batteries from my remote, reprogrammed my remote, pushed system reset several times, unplugged it for a while, bought a new surge charge, and even held the menu and device panel buttons for 10 sec and tried to turn the t.v. on again! What other options do I have or what may be the issue at hand and possible parts that may need to be replaced?? Thanks!!

Directv remote and LG remote will not control tv, just receiver

Let's start simple first. Your TV is not responding to either remote control, but specifically if your factory original LG remote does not operate the LG TV, then the problem could be with the IR receiver in the TV itself.

Ensure nothing is blocking the IR receiver on the TV. Move anything out of the way.

Test both remotes to ensure that they are sending an infrared IR signal to the TV. Use a digital camera (such as the one on your phone) and point the remote into the camera lense and press the power/volume/channel buttons. You should see a faint flashing light in your camera viewfinder. This indicates that the remote is sending IR signal. If you don't see anything, then there is no signal. Try FRESH batteries.

If your remotes are working, and since this is an LG, look at the back of the TV by the video inputs. Look for a port called "REMOTE CONTROL IN" or similar. It looks like a 3.5mm headphone jack. This port is used for external remote control and may be dirty.

UNPLUG the TV, then use a regular 3.5mm male headphone jack to plug in and out several times. You basically want to push all the way in and all the way out several times to dislodge any dust and remove any oxidation that has built up in the port. 10-15 times should do fine.

Then plug in the TV and try your remote.

Best of luck.

Remote stuck--can't change channel or turn off TV

Pull out the power plug of your TV and don't use it for few minutes. Remove batteries from your remote and keep it without batteries for few minutes. After about 15 minutes your TV and remove both will work fine.

LG TV 32LB9D VOLUME STUCK AT 100, NO RESPONSE TO REMOTES

The fault may be on the control board. Sometimes the button switches can be stuck, or there may be something causing some conduction on the control circuit board. It is also possible to have a component failure that is causing a continuous command to keep the volume to the high position.

Something that causes failures of controls in TV sets is when people clean the screen, they spray liquid cleaner on the screen. Some of it drips down in to the controls and on to the circuit board. This will usually cause damage, and thus the set will require shop service.

update your software, then update your firmware to the remote. have it connected without batteries and then when prompted to connect the remote, add your batteries and see if the software will connect and update. Good luck.

Remote control not responding

Perhaps you can try what I do when my KV24FV300 runs through channels and will not stop.  Hard to watch and remote will not work.  Nothing works but on and off from set.

Sony Says:  Take all batteries out of ALL remotes that you use in any way for that set, VCR, etc.  ALL batteries out.  Turn TV off at set.  Unplug TV.  Wait at least 15 minutes then replace all batteries in ALL remotes.  Plug TV back in and turn TV on from set.

Maybe, just maybe it will work.  If it does not work why not call Sony, they always say that cannot happen but they have a solution for it.
