What are they for? We need the year make and model of the vehicle and where you installed those

Testimonial: "It's an air door blend actuator for heat/ac in a 2000 mercury mountaineer. I only need 1 but the switch on neither one moved when heat/air was turned on. I thank-you for any help you can give."

Why 2005 pilot gets too much cabin heat even when turned off

There is blend door in vent channels under the dash of the vehicle. It blends warm and cool air in the vents depending on the temperature setting. The Blend Door is controlled by a motor called an actuator that gets its signals from the setting on the dash. When the actuator fails the blend door can't move. If it stops on hot you always get hot air.
3 possibilitys
1. Blend Door stuck.
2. Temperature control not sending signal to actuator.
3. Actuator motor gone bad.

Of the 3 possibilities the actuator motor is the most common and the easiest to fix. The part is $40-90. I don't know exactly where actuator is on the Pilot. My GMC you remove the plastic trim below the dash and its just to the left of the glove box near the 'hump'. Perhaps the part store can tell you or someone else will offer the exact location.

Once you remove the actuator you can plug it back in to the wire clip and move the temperature knob and see if it moves. When you get the new one plug it in and make sure it turns before bolting it in.

To clarify a bit. The heater is never technically turned off. The blend door determines how much it goes thru the vents.

or is it an old car that is new to you
in which sweet talk a dealer salesman to show you what operates what

2007 Chev Silvarado replaced Temperture Control Blend door, Manual AC and Ac will blow cold and then change to hot for no reason. After a while if you continue to turn the temp control knob it will go

DTC B0413 02: Temperature Control 1 Feedback Circuit Short to Ground (CJ3)
DTC B0413 05: Temperature Control 1 Feedback Circuit Short to Battery or Open (CJ3)
DTC B0413 61: Temperature Control 1 Feedback Circuit Actuator Stuck Open (CJ3)

DTC B0423 05: Temperature Control 2 Feedback Circuit Short to Battery or Open (CJ3+C67)
DTC B0423 61: Temperature Control 2 Circuit Actuator Stuck (CJ3+C67)

Did you have Actuator Recalibration done after replacing the actuator or control module ?
Your best bet ,take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop .
Preferred Method (w/ Scan Tool)
Clear all DTCs.
Place the ignition switch in the OFF position.
Install the HVAC actuator.
Connect all previously disconnected components.
Start the vehicle.
With the scan tool, initiate the Motor Re-calibration feature of the Heating and Air Conditioning Special Functions menu.
Verify that no DTCs have set as current DTCs.

I have a 2000 GMC Sonoma. The heat gets warm until the fan is turned on then the air turns cold. Acts like it is not switching over from ac to heat. what can i do about it?

Probably the blend door not actuating. I do not have the manual on where your door actuator is. It's usually right of center under the dash. Look under there and see if you can see anything trying to move when you change the temperature setting. Also, if you hear a clicking noise, that would be the actuator stripping it's gears. If youy can find the actuator, take it off and see if you can manually rotate the door hinge. If yes, replace the actuator. If not, you will have to remove the heater box to find out why the door is jammed. The actuator looks like this:

No heat in 98 jimmy. Replaced water pump,

Possibly.. the actuators which operate the doors actually have a position signal for reference, but the actual motors inside the actuators dont realize there is a limit and overshoot their limits causing the fine wires inside to rip apart rendering the actuator scrap but this happens when actuators are still plugged in to the connector while being taken off the heater door, and they can and will still move with the key in the off position if the actuator thinks it not in the proper position..thats how they work anyway.hope you had them unplugged untill the last, then this would'nt happen....hope this explaination helped
