Repaired latch inside door, but when I close the door the light stays on and reads close door

Repaired latch inside door, but when I close the door the light stays on and reads close door
How To Fix A Stuck Latch If your door can open correctly but can't close without getting stuck, it's likely an issue with the latch. Multiple issues can compromise door latches, such as a mechanical error, worn down latch components, broken door handle cables, and more. If the latch is simply stuck, you should be able to fix this yourself without taking your car to a mechanic. Just take some oil lubricant, like WD-40, and spread/spray it into the latch mechanism of your open door. Let the oil soak in for a little bit, then use a microfiber cloth to rub the oil into any visible parts of the latch. While performing this task, check to see if you can find any rust on latch components. If you do, use a piece of steel wool to scrape the rust away. Once removed, try opening the latch with your door handle to confirm that it is once again functioning correctly. In some situations, your latch may accidentally be closed when it should be open. This can happen for multiple reasons - sometimes due to an electrical glitch or a mistake made while repairing the door. Either way, if you have a car door with a closed latch, try opening your door and looking at the latch to determine its orientation. Then, open a functional door and look at the latch to see how it's supposed to be. A working door will have a latch with "open" jaws. These jaws can catch the door jamb anchor and rotate into a closed orientation to secure the door. If the latch's jaws are already closed, it can't engage with the anchor or close properly. To fix this issue, take a screwdriver and hold the door handle in the open position (pulling if necessary). As you pull the handle, rotate the latch with your screwdriver into the correct orientation. If needed, ask a friend or family member to help you hold the door or hold the handle open for you while you perform this action. Once you have moved the latch into the correct orientation, test the door handle a few times. The latch should open when you pull the door handle, and the door should again be functioning correctly.

Microwave turns on when the door is open must un-plug to shut off

Is it actually heating or just making noise and acting like it's heating? (Put a cup of water inside and close the door.) IF it's actually heating, then you have a shorted relay on the main control board, and you will have to replace the board. IF it's just making noise like it's working, but it's not heating, then the problem is that one of the door switches is not working right (it's either stuck open or stuck closed).

My micro wave door opens n does not shut tightly I guess and so takes about ten tries opening n shutting before it starts. What should I do Panasonic inverter microwave (the genius prestige) Model...

The door is either out of adjustment, the door switches are out of adjustment, or the door/hinges are damaged. If the door switch assembly can be adjusted to fix the problem, then make sure the door closes as snugly as possible. As any repair to a door can increase the amount of microwave leakage, which can cause possible health issues for you, it might be wise to, at the very least, have a technician do a radiation leakage test on the unit once the door problem is repaired.

After shutting the door and starting the microwave oven a "popping" noise was heard and the microwave oven went dead. What do I do?

I suspect your oven has a stuck interlock monitor switch. This is one of several switches inside that are operated by the door latches, and its contacts are supposed to open when you close the door. If the switch is stuck or is out of adjustment, it will cause the fuse to blow when you start the cook cycle. If there isn't any other cause for the fuse blowing, the switch can be adjusted or replaced as required. Microwaves are dangerous to work on, and door repairs can result in microwave leakage if they aren't done correctly. You should let a professional do the repair if you want to keep this oven.

Sharp microwave door will not shut and the oven light stays on continuously.

The door has a switch , probably two, that engage and disengage when opening or closing. ( a failsafe so it switches off ) when you open the door, this is the problem also like a fridge the light should go off when door is shut, it may just be stuck but Dont mess with it , clean it if its got food stuff , a mild detergent round door etc , otherwise just change microwave ,

Advantium 120 blew breaker when door was closed. I reset breaker and it worked for three weeks. Breaker is blown again...when i open the door and reset breaker it works, but as soon as you close the door...

I'd suspect the interlock monitor switch is stuck, or its mounting bracket is out of adjustment. This is designed to blow the fuse if you try to run the oven while the door is open. The switch is supposed to open when you close the door. This switch is replaceable, but you should have this oven repaired by a professional. There are lethal voltages present with the cover off, and the possibility of microwave leakage is the repairs aren't done correctly.

GE Spacesaver XL1800

Quite often this is due to a bad door switch. Opening the door while cooking (without first hitting the STOP pad) is the primary cause of door switch failure. It may also be a broken mount that holds the door switch. If you or a friend decide to work on it, we have *critical* safety, disassembly, and troubleshooting info (as well as a text file which helps in diagnosing and repairing door switch problems) at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your model number here: http://tinyurl.com/gv383
