Hi
This usually happens when you have either renamed the file, moved the file somwhere else, or deleted it all together. Sometimes you may forget editing the filename or moving it to a subfolder.

Whenever you do this be sure to go to itunes and either add the file again and delete the old one from the database or "Get Info" and update the current file. tho u ve not mentioned any specific name of the file i m tryin to give u an example..suppose u are cant locate the music file m sure the files are where they are supposed to be then they must have been renamed. You can verify this - Find a track with an exclamation mark next to it
Open your iTunes Music Library.xml file with Notepad (the iTunes Music Library.xml file is usually in C:\Documents and Settings\YOURNAME\My Documents\My Music\iTunes).
Search for the track name
A dozen or so lines below the track name will be the full path to the file and the filename.
Compare this to where you know the file to be. If it is different then that would show that something/someone has moved/renamed the file. hope u will b sorted out wth ur problem... all the best regards.

Itunes wont open

A corrupt iTunes library prevents the iTunes program from opening and prevents Apple device synchronization. According to Apple, the iTunes library must be rebuilt, which resets the library and removes the current content in the media manager. Back up your media prior to recreating the library, as the recreating process erases all content and your Apple device will synchronize with the blank, recreated library and erase the device's information.

Insert the DVD-RW disc into the computer's DVD-RW drive, and open iTunes. Click "File," "Library" and "Backup to Disc." Select the iTunes library and playlist backup and click "Next." Eject the disc after the backup completes, and close out of iTunes. Move "iTunes Music Library.xml" from your iTunes folder to the desktop. Right-click "iTunes Library" and click "Delete." Launch iTunes and click "File," "Library" and "Import Playlist." Locate and double-click the iTunes Music Library.xml file. Insert the burned disc into the DVD-RW drive and click "Restore." or

A non responsive program is frustrating to any computer user, but especially if all you want to do is listen to some music or download a new album. If iTunes isn't opening, there are many possible causes for this error. None of these fixes will affect your current music collection. Though you may need to tweak or reinstall some software, your MP3s will stay right where they are.

Confirm that your Apple device is connected securely to your computer. If you are not trying to access iTunes via an Apple device, or if your device is connected correctly, continue to step two. Configure your firewall to allow iTunes to connect to the Internet. Many firewalls block software programs' ability to get online as a security precaution. This is because some spyware and malware is designed to transmit personal data from your computer. Making iTunes a trusted program within your firewall software is necessary for it to function properly. Create a new iTunes library file. An unstable or corrupted library file can cause iTunes to suddenly quit or not open at all. Recreating a library file is a lengthy process that depends heavily on the operating system you are using. If no other troubleshooting steps are successful, then the fastest way to solve the problem is to start from scratch. Hope this helps.

My itunes wont let me open it its saying unkown error has occurred 13010

Hi crag81,
I understand you are receiving error 13010 when trying to open iTunes. If you are using iTunes 8.0.2. I suggest you upgrade (but if you cannot): Remove the Genius database In the "Finder" go to the /username/Music/iTunes/ directory and delete the "iTunes Library Genius.itdb" file. This should allow the program to launch again. This file will be recreated upon first use of the "Genius" feature.

If you are windows, Remove the Genius database In the "My Documents" go to the /My Documents/Music/iTunes/ directory and delete the "iTunes Library Genius.itdb" file. This should allow the program to launch again. This file will be recreated upon first use of the "Genius" feature.

NOTE: If your using Vista or WIN 7 go to /yourusername/Music (one directory back from My Music (from above =)),

Cant download a pic disc onto a program. cant transfer files

. Go to Sharepod Folder. Double click on Sharepod.exe. If message “Failure to
initialize” appear on your screen, you need to download the Microsoft.NET
Framework 2.0 to run sharepod. Note this program is installed by default under
vista.

Please be careful not to run Sharepod and iTunes simultaneously as iPod might get
out of sync with both software.

Disable iTunes
  • Ensure Ipod is connected to your computer. Select removable disk in My Computer,
  • Open iTunes if not set as default. Select iPod and click Settings and disable option Open iTunes when Ipod is attached.
  • Then, scroll down and uncheck Options.
  • Next step is to Enable disk use and click Apply.

I cant get the music from my pc to ipod.

If you have itunes loaded on your pc and your are updating the music from itunes to your ipod it should be okay, unless you have moved the folder which contains your music. If you have you will need to open itunes go to file>add folder to library and add your music folder, It will update your library with your music files. Then plug your ipod in and it should automatically update your ipod if you have already created a playlist for it. hope it helps. theres is a new version of itunes out now. If you haven't got it already then download it (its free) and take it from there. You need to add the music to itunes, just go to add folder (or file) to library and choose the path where your music is. Good luck

How to convert music from itunes to your mp3 player??

You cannot use Itunes for anything except an Ipod device. And any files you get from the Itunes or Rhapsody for example are copy protected and require specific software to copy to an MP3 player.

If your songs are in MP3 format (not downloaded from Itunes or another subscription site) then you can set your Sansa to "MSC" mode which makes it act like a flash drive. Then you can just drag files to the "MUSIC" folder on the sansa.

If this is on an Apple computer things are different - if you are let us know.
