SOURCE: have a trouble: dish-washer will not drain.

I just moved into a new house and builder had provided a dish washer drain just below my kitchen drain line.

DIsh washer install was done by me, every thing worked out OK except dish washer would not drain after a wash cycle.

Cause: drain provided by builder was blocked and needed a circular small cut before mounting drain hose over it.

SOURCE: kenmore 665 dishwasher will not drain

Hi

If the water doesn't drain from your dishwasher, check these:

Drain line/air gap A clog in the drain line or air gap (if there is one) is the usual reason that a dishwasher won't drain. Often the problem is at the point where the drain line attaches to the garbage disposer or household drain line. If you remove this line, you can clear any debris from the hose or hose connection. Be sure to reattach the hose before starting the dishwasher again.

Pump Your dishwasher pump ejects the water. The pump is usually mounted directly to the motor, then attached to the bottom of the dishwasher. You can reach the pump from inside the dishwasher, but first you need to remove the lower rack, the spray arm, and the spray arm support.

Look for an impeller--a round plastic fan blade-type of device that spins around. This is the wash impeller, which forces the water through the spray arm. Beneath the wash impeller is the drain impeller, which is similar in size and shape to the wash impeller. The drain impeller pushes the water toward the drain port. These components make up the pump. If any of the pump components are defective, you need to replace them.

Drain valve and/or solenoid Many dishwashers use a drain valve with an electric solenoid. When electricity flows to the solenoid, the valve opens and diverts the water to the drain. Sometimes the solenoid, or the diverting lever, sticks and prevents the dishwasher from draining or filling properly. Try to free up the solenoid to lubricate the lever. Otherwise, you may have to replace the solenoid or pump assembly. With these systems, the motor always rotates in one direction. When it's energized, the drain valve diverts the water.

Other dishwashers simply reverse the direction of the motor to drain the dishwasher. These units don't have a drain valve. Instead, there's a drain hose connected directly to the pump housing.

Belt One brand of dishwasher uses a belt to drive the pump. If this belt is broken or has fallen off, replace it.

Motor If the motor isn't turning or working, the unit won't drain. First check to be sure you have power to the dishwasher. If not, see the section "It doesn't work at all." If the motor hums but doesn't turn, it may need to be replaced.

Some dishwashers are susceptible to getting stuck if you don't run them regularly. If you haven't run the dishwasher for more than a week, you may need to manually spin the motor to free it up. If the motor is defective, you need to replace it. Dishwasher motors can't be serviced.

Timer Part of what the timer does is control the motor and drain valve. If the timer doesn't work properly, the water may not drain and you need to replace the timer. This problem is uncommon.

SOURCE: Kenmore 665 dishwasher blinking clean light

you'll need to enter a diagnostic mode, press in this order, hi-temp(sani-rinse)----heated dry--hitemp---heated dry... all lights should light, close door and let cycle for about a min, after press the cancelbutton, you should be good to go, the buttons on your model may read slighty different names, if this "toggle of buttons" does not work, you can remove thelower access panel and htere willl be a tech sheet/trouble shoooter behind the panel, in there it will explain how to enter diag/test mode

Really need more info, like approximate age and model number. Also does it still run, or does it just sit there? Does the light blink? Does it beep at you? Can you change cycles or options? Can you press Cancel to cancel the cycle and start over? Did you try unplugging the dishwasher and plugging it back in?

Dishwasher will not start. All option buttons light up except the Start/Stop button and the cancel button. I have turn the power off and on but still no wash cycle. Inside float is clear and so is spray...

Hello, I am sorry that your dish washer isn't working. One of the biggest problems with these new dishwasher is they install the control on top of the door and the operational circuit board below the control panel. Inside the door is acceptable to moisture which creates all kinds of problems. It not the spray arm or the float, or the pump. it is where they put the circuitry to control the dish washing machine.

I hoping that all you will need is a push button control strip for this dish washer. moisture get in the micro switches and make them inoperable. These button in the control strip are hermetically sealed against moisture....for a while.

Remember, it depends on how long has the dishwasher been working and what will be the cost to repair your dishwasher. Dishwasher are really good for 10 to 12 years of service. I worked on a Kenmore that was 25 years old. I told the lady of the house it is time for a new dishwasher. I could have repaired it, but really it not worth it when it is this old. GB...stewbison

Won't stop cleaning to go to dry

I have not worked with this Kenmore model, but:

It would be good to check the heating element to make sure it has not failed. Some dishwashers will wait forever for the water to come up to temp before it goes to the next cycle.

If the heating element checks out:
-IF it has a knob/dial that you turn to start the dishwasher on any cycle, that timer/controller has most likely failed.

-If your dishwasher does NOT have a dial as described above, then the main controller card (PCB) has most likely failed.
