The blinking light on the Tower means two errors either PSU or the MOBO (motherboard) So as you are sure that the PSU is fine so it is surely the issue with the motherboard. Please get the motherboard replaced or you can visit a local tech who can confirm you the same

Flashing amber light

Hi, on most Dells a flashing amber light on the power button indicates a problem with the PSU or a short on the main power rail, if this is the case you should have 2 flashing lights as well, 1 & 3.

Amber light is flashing on my computer and it won't turn on at all. Help!

The Dell Dimension 300 gets the amber blinking light when there is power to the computer (the power supply) but the motherboard isn't getting the correct power. Sometimes it can indicate a motherboard fault or that the power supply is not set to the correct incoming voltage.

Check the back of the computer. If the power supply has a switch for incoming voltage, make sure that it matches your incoming voltage. Next check that the main power cable (20 or 24 pins depending on the computer) is fully seated on the motherboard. (It can only be connected one way and should lock onto the connector on the motherboard.)

Next check that the power supply is providing the correct power. You can simply install another power supply (known to work on another computer). Make sure that the PSU is correctly sized for the computer components. Alternatively use a multimeter or a dedicated power supply tester or put it in a different machine.

If the problem is not cured with a new PSU, the motherboard has a failure. Unfortunately, it's difficult to identify the exact bad component. (If a major component other than the CPU on the motherboard had failed, the diagnostic lights or beep codes could help identify the issue.)

I hope this helps.

Amber flashing light GX620

LOL... If you haven't already fried your motherboard by using your modified PSU (And that's a big IF), then you need to buy a new PSU with similar specs and connection plugs (ie. a 24pin main) as the original PSU that came with the PC.

Could not power up gx620, tried replacing PS still could not turn on, thought it might be I/O panel but still not on what next

The amber light within the Power Button indicates a PSU or Motherboard fault. If you have changed the PSU and it is a known good unit, please check the plug that connects to the Motherboard again. Assuming that this is ok, it may unfortunately be that the motherboard capacitors have blown (a well documented failiure).

Power button on dell 5000 flashing amber

***I'm pretty sure your power supply is dead, you will either #1 take to repair shop or #2 replace it yourself.

The Best Value 550W Gold PSU 12cm 24-Pin 550 PSU is compatible.

The Corsair Memory 550W VX PSU is compatible and Corsair is an excellent brand, but you may have an issue locating the excess power connectors inside the case.

The Xilence XP480-12R Power 480W Quiet PSU would be fine, providiing the "hard drive connectors:2', are 4-pin Molex connectors.

I went on vacation and completely unplugged my E520 prior to leaving, upon my return my PC will not even boot. There is now a flashing amber light (no lights on 1,2,3,4 front panel) and the fan will not...

PLEASE READ ENTIRE ANSWER BEFORE BEGINNING:

Sounds to me like your power supply went bad. This is easy to replace however with Dell computers you have to order the power supply unit (PSU) directly from Dell or a Dell store (if those exist?). Unfortunately, they are pretty much the only company that has their own proprietary PSU so you can't just go pick one up from the store (like best buy or the like). It is easy to replace but DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FIX IT!!! Power supplies can KILL YOU. They're cheap and easy to replace. Simply unhook all the power connections and unscrew the screws from the back of your case and it should slide out. I shouldn't have to mention that of course it should be unplugged... Why did this happen? Who knows, sometimes psu's just go bad even though you did the right thing and unplugged the machine before going on vacation. Please be sure to note the wattage as you will need to replace the psu with an equal (or I suggest a little extra from the factory installed) amount of wattage. I hope this helps and thank you.

Solid amber light on front amber on mother board

Hello,
take the PSU (Power Supply Unit) from a known working computer, preferable to be the same model and test with it. when you do so make sure you disconnect any peripherals e.g ( Printer, CD-ROM, Floppy).

Look closely at the memory bay for any bent pins, and test with one memory at the time.

Let me know if this is still an issue.

Regards
