Question about Nokia N95 Cellular Phone

Resetting N95 8GB with no screen

The screen on my N95 8GB is broken - I can't see a thing. It is being replaced and have managed to back up the data but I need to reformat the phone to remove all data - but I can't see any prompts on the screen. Can anyone provide a step by step guide for me to do this 'blind'? Thanks

If you can hook it up to your computer you can format it with windows.(the actual phone not sd crds)just plug it in and go to my computer.find the drive of the phone and right click it and look for format in the sub menu(your acount on your comp has to be adminstator.)this should restore it to its factory settings

if your just replacing the screen you shouldn't have to format the phone

if you got any more question feel free to email me at gamecrazy944@yahoo.com

My phone didn't open.

Head start note: Back up your phone before you do anything.

This is one of these 2 things:
Your screen might be broken, you will need a replacement, however it can't be just any screen, these phones have revisions. You or someone will have to open the phone and check under the screen (by removing it from the board) for the revision number. Order it, replace it. Sometimes a higher revision will also work (if not better), but as a general rule I would stick to the same one.

The other thing it could be is your system somehow became corrupt. You can re install it with "blackberry desktop manager". It will wipe the phone, so try to back it up first, also using the blackberry desktop manager.

For best results bring it to your closest repair shop.

I hope this helped.
