Restart computer or laptop. Press repeatedly F8 and choose Safe Mode with networking. Uninstall any other antivirus solution. Install AVAST - www.avast.com and Malwarebytes Anti Malware - http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_pro/. Update antivirus definitions on both of them. Run Malwarebytes and choose a full scan. After the scan is complete choose to remove all infections and the computer will restart. Start again in safe mode, choose Boot time SCAN from avast and restart computer. Delete all infected files - it will ask for your choice: 1- delete, 2 - delete all 3 ignore 4 ignore all etc. Post here the results. If in safe mode you cannot connect to internet download Malwarebytes in another computer and use a usb stick to copy to infected computer. When you will use usb stick in another computer again scan it !!!!

F10+alt don't work to reset acer aspire one to factory setting. what else can i do

Hi twillis84.
You will need to start your computer in the "Safe Mode", you do this by tapping F8 while the computer is starting up.
Once the computer has started, select "Safe Mode" you have two choices.
I would try "A" first.
A...You can do a System Restore from here.
You will click "Start">All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore, this will restore your system to an earlier time when it was operating properly.
B...Once you are in the safe mode, then you will double left click on "Start">Control Panel>User Accounts>Change an Account.
Now you can change your password, delete the account, etc.

Drivers for Acer products may be found on the Acer Product Support. Search for the product and download the drivers.
Alternatively, the factory installed drivers and applications can be re-installed by using Acer eRecovery by following these steps:

1.Click Start, and then All Programs
2.Click Acer, and then Acer eRecovery Management
3.You may be prompted to enter or create a password. This password will be required to use eRecovery in the future.
4.In the next window on the left toolbar, select Restore.
5.Choose Reinstall Drivers or Applications
6.Choose Contents
7.Choose the driver or application you wish to install
8.On the right, click the Install link and follow the prompts.
9.The computer may restart when installation is complete. If it does not restart, manually shutdown and restart the computer.

Where do you locate the product key for the acer

Click on the link below, it is to a small program called Keyfinder. It is through the magic jellybean site. It is safe and free of viruses, I have it on my system. Click on the link below and choose "Download Latest Build", when the next window comes up, instead of waiting for the download window to come up, choose "Use the direct link", this will immediately bring up the download window. Open the file after downloading and follow the prompts, you will see a window appear that has the windows product key displayed along with any other Microsoft product like office.

Acer launch at reboot

This sounds like an update trying to be configured. Try pressing F8 when the computer boots up this will take you into Safe Mode. Everything on the screen will look big but don't worry about that for now. Click on Start>accessories>system Tools>System Restore and choose a date when you know everything was working okay. When the computer has finished restoring the computer will reboot. If asked after booting choose Start Windows Normally.

I hope this helps. If not let me know

Can't get to login window

Blue screens are normally critical errors. If you have loaded any new hardware to your computer lately or some software packages you will need to uninstall them.

Try starting windows in safe mode by pressing F8 continuoulsy until you hear a beep. This will start the computer in safe mode and everything will look big on the screen, ignore that for now. While you are in safe mode uninstall anything that you have loaded prior to this error. Be it software or hardware.

If you have not loaded anything recently then try restoring your computer to an earlier time when you know that it was working with now problems.

Once safe mode boots go to Start>all programs>accessories>system tools>system restore and choose a date when you know that the computer was running okay. Once the restore has taken place the computer will reboot. If asked what mode you want to start in choose start windows normally.

Hopefully this will help you resolve your problem.

When i turn my laptop on it goes through the start up process however when complete it just shows a blue screen with the windows logo, i cant access anything because there is no files, menus, nothing at...

its a little problem without the windows disk but try this steps.

Turn on the computer-while booting press the F8 key until you have an option to choose safemode.
then choose safemode, once on the safemode, if you have install somoething on your computer, try to uninstall it, if not then on the safemode try to back up your files.Scan for viruses and spyware.

If this may not work then I suggest you get a windows setup disk.
