Question about Dell 5110cn Laser Printer
You may try to clean it with a very soft cloth and SURGICAL SPIRITS (avaiable from chemists) but the fact that the image drum usually is made from a type of glass you wont really make a difference. You may indeed SCRATCH it instead. It should actually be replaced with a new image drum

There is no glass in the imaging drum as stated in the other solution, in fact, your drum instead is made of 4 aluminum cylinders coated with a unique blend of photo conductive chemicals that do not react well to being touched. you can identify these as the green colored cylinders in the back. in the front of the unit there is a black rubber coated roller that also does not react well to being touched. now if you mechanically inclined you can disassemble the unit and clean all of the components, but you will not be able to reset the computer chip, it has to be replaced. save yourself the agrivation and buy a new drum.
