Didn't help... uninstalled WiFi-device twice and problem still persists. Searched for newer drivers, but seems like I got the latest drivers for this device.

I have an HP Pavilion dv6-6135 and when I googled my wi-fi problem, there were a lot of HP Pavilions in the same boat. One person has a video on how he by-passed the motherboard with wireless adapter to fix it. Obviously it is an HP pro blem that they just keep let happening on each model.

The wireless LED will be lit if the Wireless connection is turned ON. Please check the LED indicators that are available below the LCD and check if the Wireless indicator is lit. You can enable the Wireless connection from the Windows Mobility Center too. Open the Control Panel and select classic view and you can find the Windows Mobility Center. You can find "Turn ON wireless connection" there. You can also enable the Wireless connection from the Network and sharing center.

Start Windows Mobility Center from the Accessories program group in the
Start menu
You should be able to turn on blutooth from there.
Please let me know if this helps.
