If you're getting a AC error light, but you're sure the compressor works, you need to reset the compressor. Disconnect the battery for 20min (keep in mind, this will reset everything). After 20min, reconnect the battery. When you turn on the AC, the light shouild go out (AC error light). Be ready to add freon right away or the compressor will shut down again. Post back if you need instructions on adding refrigerant. Best of luck.

If you buy the cans from walmart the instructions for that are on the can. It is very simple though. Just turn the car on with ac on and compressor will engage unless there is a problem with it.

Bmw x3 fuse diagram

Did you use the proper gauges to measure the high side and low side pressures as you added the 134 (I assume not Freon)? If not, it's possible you put too much 134 on the high side and either you kicked a breaker for the pressure or you just burned up the compressor.

2000 dodge durango, a/c compressor stopped working after freon was added, did I do something wrong?

at a rough guess you add excessive amounts of freon and that caused the compressor to seize up
gas is added using pressure gauges and not by the can
besides that did you use the correct gas as the r134a runs at a much higher pressure and will deliver liquid back to the compressor which is not good for the operation

My a/c is blowing no cool air with freon added

you are supposed to hook up the guages then run the compressor, unless you have a different model than most. this method will give you the low pressure side reading as the compressor runs, this is the important one. as all systems are different there will be slightly different pressures at rest

Refrigerant got low and compressor shut off how do you get it to start to run again?

When you add refrigerant to the system the compressor will start to cycle again. The system needs a minimum refrigerant pressure to work so when the pressure falls below that minimum the compressor wont cycle. If your adding freon yourself make sure to have engine running and the ac on max with the fan on max. As your adding freon the compressor will start when the min. pressure is achieved, watch the pressure gage closely so you don't over do it. I hope this helps you.

AC IS NOT COOLING. FREON HAS BEEN CHECKED AND IS FINE.

Impossible to tell w/o the belt being installed. If the compressor is dead, no amount of freon will work. My guess is that they probably removed the belt due to compressor issues but if the compressor does kick on and there's no cool air, it may need freon. Freon can't be added unless the compressor is on and running.

2001 Isuzu Rodeo LS after adding Freon A.C runs warm and cold

It sounds like by adding refrigerant to the system it may be over pressurizing. When this happens it will cycle on and off.

You will need to hook up a set of manifold gauges and monitor the high and low pressures to see what is happening.

How do I add freon to the A/C on my 1993 Subaru Impreza ?

Hi DO NOT BYPASS the tryrister switch!!!!!!!!!.

You can safely add R12 (freon) from a can with the system not running ,when you have enough gas and oil mix added to the system the compressor will stsart automatically the problem you have is not knowing if there is a leak in the system,as you need to check this as venting R12 to the atmosphere can land you in prison if caught !!!!,.The best advice I can give you is take the car to an Air-con specialist and he will carry out all the checks on the system for you and re-gas the system properly.

Tahoe Air Conditioning - No Electricity to Compressor

With the engine NOT running, pull the connection to the compressor clutch and hit the terminals with 12 volts from the battery. If the clutch clicks it's OK and probably is not working because of a low freon interlock if there is one.

You said you added a can of freon...... was the clutch working when you did this? If it all went sour when you added the can , could you have done it wrong and dumped the rest of the freon?
