I have the same problem. Automatically shuts off. I turn it back on and sometimes it stays on awhile. But it eventually will shut off. Agravating....

The same was happening to my R-V1105, it started as just once and a while and continued with greater frequency to just shut off. Now it will not power on at all. It just makes a click noise when the power button is pressed.

I have the R-V1105 with the same problem. It shuts down every now and then with increasing frequency. I also noticed that the cooling fan attached to the transformer does not turn when the unit is switched on. Is this normal since it has not reached a certain temp? Please advice.

I guess I'm not alone! I have the exact same problem. This is the last Yamaha product I buy!

Turns it self off intermittantly and it is not overheating

Check for a speaker short or wire touching, beyond that, it would have to go on a bench for testing. Probably a cold solder joint if not a speaker or wire. Hope this helps

Yamaha rx-v461 not working

you have a faulty circuit somewhere, whether its in speaker wiring, or power source, i dont know, but your reciever has an automatic circuit breaker in it for protection, and a faulty circuit will trip it, i would assume it is a power source problem since it wont turn back on, check wiring, plugs and look around, and smell for burnt, or hot components.
