Question about Computers & Internet
My desktop PC Windows XP Pro hangs everytime I try to resart (dull/gray screen on windows logo display). Tried to wait for more than 2 hours before restarting but still hangs the same way. It only starts up and functions normally after a long shutdown (4 or more hours shutdown). PC can be opened in Safe Mode. Did several on-line scans from Norton, symantec, bit defender, kapersky, then conducted defragmentation of all hard disks but same problem persists. My PC has an Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2180 @ 2GHz w/ 1G RAM. Checked driver update on NVIDIA GEForce 8500GT but their site said I have the lates driver for the video card and do not need any driver update. Hope you can suggest hw to fix. thanks,
Try to use msconfig (on run) to see what programs run on system startup. some of these programs may be a malware that keeps on placing trash on your computer. i would recommend you download the Anti Malwarebytes and run it to remove the suspected malware.

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
