My belt broke in half and I took the old broken one into the repair shop and they matched me up with a new one and it works. Never throw an old one away if you are not sure the size.

Probably not. First off, very few Craftsman products have PTOs. Therefore you have nothing that can drive the snowblower auger. Simply hanging it in the tractor is not going to help.
you can access some manuals on www.deere.com go to the residential section. As far as reversing the auger on the blower it sounds like you may have your drive belt from the tractor routed the wrong way
