Question about GE Washing Machines
I have a Top Load GE Model #WBSR3140G1WW. The spin cycle is not working. The water drains but it doesn't spin and it is not dispensing the fabric softener. The motor is running but nothing is happening. Normally when it is in the spin cycle I can't raise the lid. Now when it is supposed to be spinning, I can raise the lid.
Last Saturday (7/11) we had a storm and lightening hit and got our TV converter box, direct tv receiver box, dvd player, the GFI outlet in the bathroom and another outlet on the outside of our garage. We also lost power to the bathroom lights, the computer and lights in that area and the light in the laundry room. I flipped the circuit breakers off then back on in those areas and the lights and computer came back on. I don't know if lightening got the washer or it's just a coincidence that it started having trouble now. Dryer is working fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
This is an electronic washer. Unplug for 2 minutes, plug back in, open and close lid 7 times slowly. This will reset electronic motor.
