How do you repair the retractable cord on a 1500w iron

So many people make a copy of that iron maybe a local repair shop for tefal, black n decker, or another can do it. Taking things apart sometimes is not worth the trouble of putting back together. sometimes it requires special tools. call around first before you try it yourself

Why does the cord to my rowenta iron not fully retract?

pull cord all the way out of the iron, make sure it's flat and not twisted when it gets reeled back in.

I have a Tefal Pro Express Turbo iron (purchased in 2005). In the past 2 days the steam is constantly on - the button does not appear to be stuck. I can't get the steam to stop... unless I take out...

Yes, if your electric cord was extremely hot to touch is not common. It's posing danger to your unit and to your entire electrical system that may cause fire. Please let a qualified electrician inspect and repair your unit. The unit thermal fuse may not functioning that automatically switch off or cut the electric power of your unit when it gets too hot. Thank you for asking.

DG-980 Iron: The button to use the steam is stuck. I was ironin...

Hi Mary, sounds like something jammed in the trigger mechanism or the microswitch button is stuck in the housing. Unplug the iron, let it cool. Gently pry up the blue cushion from the handle from the front towards the rear cord, you will see the trigger, the actuator tab and the microswitch button (nib) that should be sticking out, if it is flush with the housing it is jammed down. That switch is replaceable, but I don't know how savy you or your appliance servicer are at replacing it. Here is where I get my parts:

My iron won't work

you have to check the cable you can use multi tester in ohm position to make sure the connection no problem, and turn the adjustment temperature and watch on multitester the resistance will change if nothing happen you have to change cord with new one.
