Hi...

If you dishwasher fails to drain you need to check this following:

  • Check sink drain and drain hose for restrictions
The drain hose and recirculation hoses can be responsible for leaks. The drain hose can cause the dishwasher to fail to drain properly. The recirculation hose can be responsible for problems with poor rinsing of dishes.
  • Unjam the motor
  • Unjam the pump
  • Check the drain valve
  • Check the drive belt
  • Test the timer motor
The timer motor regulates the length of time power is routed to each component. If the timer motor does not function properly, it can result in a wide range of problems. Common symptoms include sticking in a cycle, cycle times running too long, or failure of the dishwasher to start at all.
  • If you have a brand new dishwasher or garbage disposer, check the knock out plug on the garbage disposer.

Good luck !!!

All the water is not draining from the bottom of the machine. How do we fix it please?

It does not drain it has to be pumped out by the pump on both the wash and rinse cycles.

If the pump is not working on any cycle it has most likely failed and needs to be replaced.

If the pump is not drawing water out of the machine in the final rinse cycle only then there will be an issue with the electronic control board not activating the pump in the final cycle.

Dishwasher runs for appx 14 min & stops washing half way thru wash cycle. Timer contunies to run. No drain pump out (nothing). Let dishwasher set idle for appx 1 hour and it will re-set. Set timer...

This sounds like something is stuck in the drain pump. You can remove the inner cover to look for obstructions. You have a dual purpose motor it does the both circulating and draining. The blockage is causing it to overheat and trip the thermal protector. You can remove the drain assembly from underneath if you don't find anything from above. There is a video at www.appliancehelponline.com/servicemanual.html that walks you thru most of this. It is a different model but pretty close. If you find no obstructions the motor may be failing.

ASKO dishwasher won't drain and makes rattling sound.

I had tried several failed attempts to fix this problem. Finally I got on my knees and asked God to make the dishwasher run in Christ's name. The dishwasher just completed it's first cycle without any problems.

Brand new dishwasher will not drain at end of cycle.

Check your manual. Some dishwashers actually do leave water in them after the final drain cycle. It has to do with the type of seals they use. Some will leak the very first time they are used but not after that. The seals in these types must remain wet. If this isn''t the issue, wait about 5 minutes fir the timer to finish. Sometimes there is quite a lag at the last cycle. If all else fails, call the customer service number in the manual.

Food odor builds up if dishes not washed daily, even though we rinse evrything thoroughly before loading dishwasher. No water remains at bottom - nothing appears to be stuck in drain. Any thoughts?

No matter how well you rinse wares, some food particles will always go into the machine. Sometimes these particles can build up and lead to what you describe. I would start by inpecting the wash tub area; remove screens, remove wash arms and clean as needed. You are looking for any residual food soil which would harbor bacteria. If all else fails, follow your nose!
Once everything is as clean as you can make it, then purchase a product for cleaning/deliming your machine. One I know of is called "Dishwasher Magic" which should be available at most appliance repair stores. Run this through the machine on a long or heavy cycle. Once complete, run a second cycle with nothing but water to rinse any lingering chemistry.
Lastly, for a 3rd (and final) cycle, add a cup of bleach to kill off any remaining odor-causing bacteria. But, DO NOT SKIP THE RINSE CYCLE mentioned above.
This should take care of the problem,
Kermit
