1 Answer

I installed the Linksys Wireless-G WUSB54G 802.11g?b yesterday. Got connected fine. But it drops me and then re-connects. I checked the signal strength and it is excellent very strong. How do I deal with this connect, the re-connect, then connect, then re-connect, etc.

You may find this strage but we often get the same problem. It usually is because the security password is not exactly correct. DELETE the connection and then re-detect it and and make sure you insert the password correctly.
Hope it works ....

Windows Vista crashes when I connect my Linksys wusb54g wireless adapter. It worked fine for about 3 months, then started crashing, now I can't have it connected, or it crashes instantly.

This is a software conflict of the linksys device to your system, so to correct this remove first the software from your computer and then after that restart the computer and then connect the adapter on different usb port , if still having the same problem i will suggest that you have the device replace.....

PC says wireless connection unavailable, I am using a linksys adapter, and is supposedly working fine.

I have one of these from linksys, and have had the same issue when attempting to set up the security on the router. There is a reset button on the back of the router you can press with the tip of a ballpoint pen or pencil, that will reset the factory settings. You should be able to reconnect through Windows wirless connections then.

Laptops connect to router but still cannot get on internet

It's just a wireless interference problem. All you need to do is change the wireless channel of your router. Login to the router's admin page and look for wireless channel under the WIRELESS tab. Change it to channel 11 and save the settings. That should solve your problem. You can play around with different channels and check which one is the best for your environment. Good Luck!

Can't get my adapter to connect...XP is stuck with Aquiring a network address.

Have had this same problem. This worked for me. Remove the adapter, uninstall linksys, if it is installed, restart the computer, insert the adapter, when found new hardware comes up, let windows use the install wizard to install the adapter. Sorry to say, i have used this method on 5 pcs and it failed on only one. Let's hope yours will also be possitive. Good luck.

Cannot setup WPA2 on WUSB54G & WPC11 adaptors

This is because those wireless adapters that you mentioned do not support for WPA2. Linksys will not release drivers for those adapters that will make it work with WPA2 because they are already discontinued. So the only other option is to stick with WPA or WEP

Problem connecting linksys wusb54g wireless to internet.

Sounds like you need to reboot the router and probably the cable modem. Unplug both, wait 30 seconds, then plug them back in. It can't hurt anything and it solves this problem 90% of the time.

Can not connect adapter to laptop no installation CD-Rom

you have to install the driver for it to work and i assume that is not the case as you have no cd. Go here to download the driver. http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?c=L_Download_C2&childpagename=US%2FLayout&cid=1115417109934&packedargs=sku%3D1134691790190&pagename=Linksys%2FCommon%2FVisitorWrapper&lid=0993490190B03 When installed go to the properties of your adapter in network connections, then click on tcp/ip line and then properties and ensure obtain ip address automatically is ticked and press ok. You may also have to use the home network connection wizard if you havent previously to share documents over your network.
