broil and bake use a glow plug for ignition and both work fine. Broil will light but bake does not get gas. Gas valve has been replaced to no avail. Is it possible the contacts for the bake are not making?? Should the voltage from the controller to the valve be the same for both broil and bake, because broil is getting more voltage than bake leading me to think the contacts are not closing completely. Thoughts???
It is almost always a weak bake igniter. These age and will no longer pull enough current through them to allow gas valve to open. If bake igniter comes on and doesn't light, replace it.

We are massive bacon sarnie fans so the grill is in use a lot if the time! I gave noticed that the element gas started to droop on the right hand side and looks as if the paint is starting to flake at the front of the roof of the oven. I don't know if this is connected at all? The element on the 'drooping' side looks as if it gas furred up a bit, it's not smooth like the other side. Part of the bend in the element has now drooped to the extent that it has bowed upwards and is touching the roof of the oven. I tried to use it tonight and it wouldn't get red so not sure if it has broken? Can you help? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

My GE Profile oven will not light. The stove top burners work except the left rear won't come on. I just moved in so I don't know the history. I changed the ignitor because I had 120v to both wires going to the ignitor. The oven placard says it's a 120v oven and I did not hget 220 across the two leads to the ignitor. The old ignitor showed 680 ohms and the new is 1098 ohms. I checked the house wiring and the neutral/power/ground legs are right.Any ideas??
