Check the permission you have on the system you are using it on. having an admin right might be hampering your right to do that. also check if the drive is write protected if it has such facility. try plugging it into another port or another machine with administrator right and see what happens

Easyshare software for zd710

Yes you can, and I do it all the time. I copy the pictures to "My Pictures" folder. If you OPEN the DCIM folder by clicking on it, then SELECT ALL, then choose copy. Now close your camera folder. and OPEN "My Pictures" and then choose PASTE, all your pics should be inserted into "MY PICTURES". The reason your pics are deleted even after you've renamed them is because your OS is only copying them as shortcuts. If you don't want to copy or paste, next time you try to save one of your pics, hold down the shift key while dragging your pic to your folder and it won't move it as a shortcut. Hope this helps.

I deleted all my bookmarks from chrome accidently, i wish to restore all my bookmarks, i have around 2000 book marks

You should be able to see your hidden folder , so that you can see the Local settings folder.
For Xp user's, Go to : C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default
For Vista user's, Go to : C:\Users\Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default
You can see a file named 'Bookmarks.bak' . May be you can make a backup copy of this folder for safety purpose, but it works out usually. Delete the file 'Bookmark' and rename the file 'Bookmarks.bak' to 'Bookmarks'.

My emails have disappeared

Please verify if you have renamed/upgraded your account to Outlook.com. If yes, please be informed thatyou are only upgrading the user interface of Hotmail to the new user interface; hence all your emails should still stay in your Inbox. There could be many reasons why emails could be lost after renaming:

1. Due to inactivity in account:

If your emails were over 365 days old, you may have lost them due to inactivity in the account even before you renamed the account. If you had Self-recovery of emails turned on in your account before renamed, you can try to recover some of the deleted messages yourself, please refer: Deleted email messages.

2. You got another option to save your Hotmail emails differently when renaming your account to @Outlook.com account:

If you chose to rename your account to @Outlook.com, a prompt would have asked you - 'Where do you want to save your emails?' You will have the option to create a new folder for your old account or save the emails in the Inbox of your renamed account. If you chose to create a new folder, the default name of the folder will be the name of your old account and the folder will appear in the left pane under 'Folders'. And all your old emails will be stored in this folder.

3. Your account was hacked even before you renamed your account:

A hacker had already deleted emails in their account before you renamed the account.

Thanks!

I am tryign to uninstall fix it, get error 5006

Installation or uninstallation of an application or game fails and gives the following error code:

This issue is due to a previous installation not finishing properly

Solution 1. Rename the Installshield folder

Make sure you've enabled Show hidden files and folders.

Find and rename the Installshield folder:

Windows 32-bit: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Installshield

Windows 64-bit: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Installshield

If there is an Installshield file in the Common Files folder, rename that one also (e.g. to Installshield_OLD).

Solution 2. Remove all traces of previous uninstall

If renaming the Installshield folder had no effect, find and delete any traces of uninstalled applications.

Applications that can assist you are: Revo Uninstaller, Windows Installer Cleanup Utility , CCleaner.

Alternatively, do a manual clean-up:

Close all running programs. Then clear the Temp folder (found via input of %temp% in Start > Search or Start > Run).

Use the Windows registry editor to delete registry entries related to the program.

Restart the computer.

hope this helps

Download a program called Hijackthis from Download.com

Once you run it, click on the button that says "Open the Misc Tools Section" and then choose "Delete file on reboot"

Select the file from your external HD, and click okay. It will ask you to restart your computer, so be sure that you have everything closed down and ready to restart.

Please Rate. Thanks :-)

I would advise to also run a Virus scan (I advise running Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, also from Download.com) on your external, because it sounds like a virus. Just FYI.

I selected open folder to view pictures. The f: file display DCIM. I clicked it and it display Olympus displaying pics. I name a couple of pics in the slide. I wanted to change the folder name I...

it sounds like you deleted the images. If you are downloading images from your camera or card....you should open the folder to view images. hold control key down and select all images that you want to download. right click on them on click save.

it sounds like you are trying to rename a folder before downloading anything. I know that when I try to edit or rotate any of my images on my card, i first need to download the images to a folder before doing any edits. it does sound like you were trying to rename your folder. normally, you would right click on folder, and click rename. hope this helps. if you need anything else, feel free to ask!!!

Microsoft word 2000 is not responding

Use the Search Option, selecting all files (search hidden as well), to locate the file named Normal.dot. Once found delete or rename the file Normal.OLD. This is the template that Word uses for all documents. It not uncommon for this file to become corrupted and cause problems.

After finding this file in your computer, rename it to something else like Normal.Old or delete it completely and then retry opening word. Word should automatically recreate the Normal.dot template for you. If it works properly after renaming the template file, you can delete the old one since a new one will have already been created.

Normal.dot may be hidden so you may have to go into your Window Explorer options and change them to show hidden files and folders before doing your search

To enable viewing of hidden folders:
MY COMPUTER --> TOOLS --> FOLDER OPTIONS --> VIEW --> SHOW HIDDEN FILES AND FOLDERS)

Hope this information has been helpful.

500gb. Name has been altered to something less than tasteful ¬_¬

Depending on what OS you're using, try using the built-in utility to format the drive (since you've deleted all the folders anyway). You'll be able to rename it what you want and start with a fresh drive.
