Ensure the audio plug is plugged into the correct jack on the back of your computer.

Also, your computer doesn't care what type of speakers you have plugged in - so, there are no drivers for the speakers. What does have drivers is the sound card. If, after you check the jacks (it won't hurt anything to play an mp3 and try the different jacks until you find the one with sound) and still have no sound, try another set of speakers, then, and only then, start worrying about the sound card.

Audio doesnt work from hard drive, speakers dont work when plugged in

The hard drive doesn't make the speakers work. However, the drivers that DO make the speakers work reside permanently on the hard drive...once you install them. To install the audio drivers for your computer, visit your computer manufacturer's site, go into the support section, enter your model number, download and install the audio driver, then restart the computer. Sound should be coming out of the speakers now, unless the speakers themselves are bad.

New sata hard drive not recognised

You will need to format the drive and put a OS on it. If you have already try checking the connection again and i think in windows vista there is a function to try and locate a new drive.

this is pretty basic info on the link but it pretty much applies to all the windows OS

My X2gen MW22U gets dim on the left side of the screen. Can this be fixed?

jim5944, It depends on how old the unit is and if you would think it was a cost effective fix for the unit. You will be the deciding factor in the fate of the MW22U. To change the "cold-cathode-fluorescent-lamps" the unit will need to be stripped down to be able to cut loose the ends of the
lamps from the silicone sealer used to mount them to the lcd panel. Before installing new lamps they should be BENCH TESTED to prove that the new ARE NOT doing what the OLD ONES were doing! If new act same as old then the power supply/inverter supply may also need REFURBISHMENT!!! FYI check out www.lcdparts.net , www.ccl-la.com and other places like YOUTUBE for video clips of "LCD monitor disassembly", "LCD monitor repair" for additional info. If this info was of some help, please rate on FIXYA. 12fixlouie nrt of windy city. BYE for now.
