This message means the TV is not being ventialated properly. For a Samsung TV it needs to be 10 cm away from any walls etc.

If the unit is in a recess, the same principal would apply.

Had this happen to my LA40A650A1F as well, repaired under warranty first time ( TV 6 months old.) now 2 years later same error message has reappeared, TV is same location with plenty of ventilation.
Original warranty return receipt from repair agent states Fan P/n# BN31-00014e was replaced.
As my TV is now out of warranty I thought I'd repair myself, trouble is I can only find 1 fan in the unit, this fan is not spinning at all so is most probably the cause, part is ex-USA for $35 + post so will see how it goes. Hopefully its fan N# 2 like the error message states.

I keep getting "check Fan #1" on my Samsung HL-T5087SA DLP TV. I vacuumed it and it is still doing it. Anybody know how to fix it. TV goes off by itself after a few minutes.

you need to test the fan if it is working or not or better replace the fan with a new one.there must be shortage of voltage coming from the fan thats why the unit turn itself off.over heating of components near the fan might be the cause because your fan is malfuntioning thats why you got a keep getting the message check the fan better replace it..

Samsung hl-s4666w DLP "Check Fan #2" on-screen message appears before shutting off. How do I fix this?

Look at the Large Lamp fan and if it is not rotating it is bad and needs to be replaced. If is ok then check the other two smaller fans. You do have a bad fan.

Check Fan No. 2 Error Message

The DMD board you installed is bad. It senses the detection line from the fan and generates the error code. Try installing the old DMD board.

I replaced the fan # 2 after getting that error on

Which fan did samsung say was fan #2 ? As from my experience dealing with Samsung they dont know the difference between the fans but fan 2 error is usually refering to the fan under the light engine in the L7 and the L6 its the small one in the gray plastic case which blows under the ballast.

Tv cuts off by it self. flashes message on bottom of screen check fan no. 2.

You haven't said which Samsung projector you have so I have to give you a generalised answer: The projector is overheating and going into protective mode.

Do as the message says: check the cooling fans as you won't know which one is fan no.2. Mostly it's simply the air filters which have clogged with dust and they're always easy to remove and clean. If you wash the filters they must be bone dry before you reinstall them.

Samsung sp50l6hd it is showing up on the sceen fan 2 error can any one help?

If a “Fan error message appears on the screen:

1. Look at the fans to see if they are running while the unit is on. If not running check the connector. If the connector is good replace the fan.

2. If all fans are operating, problem is in the fan detection circuit, Actuator, Protection Board or Digital Board.

Samsung sp50l6hd projecton

If a “Check Fan” message appears on the screen:

Take a look at the fans while the unit is on. If a fan is not operating, check the connector to that fan. If the connection is good, replace the fan. If the fan is still not operating you have a problem with one of PCBs.
