Bought a R4i Red card, installed newest version 1.4.3b,put new software on the Micro SD card as well,my DSI XL sees the R4i card and I can play games but after a few minutes all data seems to be deleted and...

The R4i Red card might be a fake (the genuine one shows on the box, note the hyphen!), and if you've updated your console to the latest 1.4.2 or 1.4.3 firmwares it's unlikely to work. Check out R4 DS Revolution Cards at (info site) to differentiate between different versions of R4i cards and make sure you buy a genuine one!

A lot of the fakes will indeed work when you buy them but as soon as you update your console they'll stop working.

Good luck!

I have downloaded all the system files and a number of games onto a Micro sd card but when I put my R4i card into my dsi, itcomes up with ''menu'' in red on the top screen. What am I doing wrong?

When this error occurs it means that 99% of the time you have either, downloaded the wrong software (System files) or you have installed them incorrectly. When you are looking for the system files you must use the one supplied by your particular variant of DS card. (There are many R4i cards out there and they all have their own software and none will work in the other :S) On the DS card itself look for a web address - go there and look for the latest kernel version. Make sure you unzip it to your micro sd card, and that all the files are in the root of the card (and not in a sub folder)
If you want more detailed instructions with images check out this r4 help site: R4i Help
That is a forum post that shows you exactly what you need to do to setup your R4i card

R4i working SLOW on DSi. Loads slow and make save files slow.???

cause DSI is the nintendos attempt to stop R4 card users! see the r4 and GnM cards made nintendo invest in a microsd slot! so try using that card with the dsi instead of the R4 as people now are hacking the micro sd slot to allow any ds rom to be played! faster then th R4 due to the fact that the micro sd is connected right to the motherboard of a ds game slot devices such as R4

What software do i need to install so my r4i card so it will work on my sons dsi

The website that you purchased your R4 card will have the latest firmware for download. Download the package and move it to your sd micro card with the adapter provided. After you have the software on the card you will need to make some folders for your games and media. I know with the R4 revolution card there were a total of four files I had to copy to the micro card. I do not have a R4i card so there may be more folders to copy over to the card. It is fairly simple process. I know with my R4 card I am limited to size of the micro card ... you may want to check if the R4i card also has these limitations, but I don't think it does..... Hope this helps good luck

I have bought a R4i card my DSi my DSi is running on version 1.2E what version do i need to install on my R4i

You must install the USB into the pc, format the micro SD card (if you have one) and get the latest kernel from the CD/website, now get the R4i into your dsi, and enyoy! (please be aware that some flashcards can work on V 1.03 or under, so don't upgrade to 1.04!)

We used to have the R4 with the micro SD for the DS, but we traded up, and now has the DSI. The R4 didn't work with the DSI, so I bought the R4i. I placed the old SD card with all of the games to the R4i,...

What you need to do is get the right sd card for the r4i, their are differant sd card for every card, if you got the r4i from a site look to see what card you need, it will be a differant sd card than the one for a r4, write down which one it is, if their cheap from the site then buy one, if their cheaper in places like argos then go their, i sometimes get them from their, but mostly get the sdcard with the r4i, its cheaper that way.
