Just a thought; maybe your saw requires a 300 mm blade rather than a 12 inch?

The popular view is the two sizes are interchangeable but there is a small difference in diameter with the Imperial blade being about a quarter inch bigger than the metric.

I had a similar problem with an eight inch saw. When I fitted an eight inch blade it seemed to be ok but when switched on it made a loud noise, similar to yours I guess.
I was unwilling to buy another blade so I modified the saw to give the blade housing a little more clearance so I could use the eight inch.

SOURCE: loose replacement blade

I completely removed the blade and put it back on, tightening the locknut, and now it works perfectly. The blade has not come loose and have used the machine for the last 3 months. The only thing I can think of is that somehow I didn't have the blade correctly installed in the first place, although it didn't wobble or anything.

there is a nut holding the blade in the center , it is left handle thread , there should be a locking mechanism to hold the blade while you unscrew the nut

Replacing the brushes did not prevent eventual failure of the motor. Possibly the windings are staring to short.

Changed Dewalt miter saw to new blade. Blade won’t turn and making horrible noise.

Make sure the blade is the correct size. Check to see if the blade is on correctly and tight.

My saw makes a loud noice while I'm cutting

I'm wondering what the noise is like. Is the noise only while you are cutting / under load? Is the blade smoking? What type of wood are you cutting?

Loud clacking noise like gears skipping over each other when I turn it on.

There is probably a gear cracked or partially broken causing the teeth to be out of mesh and the noise is when the gears jump back in to mesh until the faulty gear comes around again.. If it is a dewalt there are spares available.

How to change the blade?

I don't know if this will help you much but I've got a DeWalt 14 inch chop saw and a 10 inch miter saw and they both have a small lever on the right hand side of frame just behind blade If you depress this lever and slowly rotate blade until it drops into place this locks the blade for changing. Hope this helps you. Thanks.

This is common IF the blade clamping nut becomes loose... the blade will free wheel on the arbor after the motor stops. It can tear up the arbor so investigate this possibility immediately.

Dewalt miter saw .

Either the blade or the guard is out of alignment. You will have to check and find out which one is the culprit.
