no i mean board wont even boot to bios or cmos i am not getting any video but the processor fan is working it is an old powersupply and i am thinking that the power supply might not have the capacity to run the board. when i say i cant get video i mean i cant get video not i cant watch a movie or play a game please do not talk to me like i am a retard I have alot of knowledge on the subject i have ECNT diploma. I wanna know if powersupply being 50/60 hrtz is why the board wont fully fire up. I havent worked on comps in a while am also a truck mechanic. I hope that was more helpful do i need a better powersupply to run the board.

Wat do u mean by dis--->"board starts up cant get any video from any cards"
well r u trying to say is that u cant watch movies or play games?
well is ur computers boot-up? lyk is windows running?
another question ur board might be not compatible to such kind of cards have u check ur mother board manual?
can u name ur motherboard breifly? like full model number?
n as u said u think ur mother board doesnt work , so if ur motherboard is not working is ur motherboard capable enough too install a windows without any errors? if yes then ur motherboard is 100% working its just that the video card that u'ave bought was not compatible enoguh to fit ur motherboard
u answer my these question then i'll tell u which video card too buy + mention ur budget that how mucch expensive card u can afford!
bye!

Sounds like the board or processor has failed. You will have checked all the power connectors to the board? Usual fix is a new board, rather than trying to find which component on the board has failed.

Yes it could be a video/motherboard problem.
1st Install a different RAM module because the RAM may be faullty and the on-board video card uses part of the RAM (shared memory).
If this works then the RAM is either faulty or incompatible.
2nd. Try installing a video card in the AGP expansion slot.

AMD Motherboard with, on board video card has voltage short no video available on monitor. I would like to disable and add a AGP card.

When the Computer is off install the AGP card and put it together next start the computer when it starts up hit Del key before it boots up go into bios go to devices and disable onboard video, then hit F10 say yes to save changes and reboot it will then detect the card and will ask for drivers for the card. Be sure you read the directions for the video card You may have to install the drivers first, since you did not mention the card brand names and what mother board you have. Asus has many mother boards.

How to properly install Asus N6200 AGP video card

Set refresh to 60hz
Set color to highest position.
If this is an LCD, set it to the highest resolution
If this is a 15" or 17" CRT, set resolution to 1024x768.
If this is a 19" CRT, set resolution to 1280x1024.

Also, do not use the drivers on the CD. Go too nvidia.com and download the latest there.

Also, if you can get into the BIOS, try to disable the on board graphics if you see an option for it.

My computer freezes

You could try with reinstalling the drivers for the graphic card. Another problem could be that you don't have all the codecs needed (But it doesn't usually freeze windows, only the software). Try downloading a codec pack from the following site: http://free-codecs.com/Codec_Packs.htm
