MPU-401 COMPATIBLE MIDI DEVICE ''Code 12''

I'm running Windows XP. I get the message from my MPU-401 Compatible MIDI Device: This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use (code 12) telling me if I want to use it I need to disable another drive due to a conflict.

I do get Windows system sounds, but nothing else. Also, the volume icon in my taskbar at the bottom of the screen has disappeared.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Thank you

No sound after windows XP installation + realtek installation

check the series, is it really require realtek? because the driver doesn't depends on the windows XP, but the type, model and series of motherboard or chipset brand.... anyway, realtek doesnt written on the device manager, check to your control panel - sound and audio device, is all enabled?or does any volume elements are muted..

Don't know what to do

You either have corrupted drivers or you have a device conflict.
you'll need to uninstall and reinstall the drivers for it. (try to right click and update drivers, if this doesn't work, then you'll have to download the drivers from your MOBO manufacturer.

MISSING SOFTWEAR FROM COMPUTER

Go to Lenovo's support site on another unit, enter the model of your unit (it's on the bottom of the laptop) and download the drivers for the items XP didn't have drivers for.
It's not uncommon these days to have very few drivers provided by the operating system.
No worries.
Good luck
