Well I am a master Certified Chrysler tech and Chrysler has been using a Clear to yellowish Power steering fluid for many years now. In most vehilces power steering fluid is pretty much standard automatic transmission fluid (thus the red color) The only fluid that that car came with that was green was the antifreeze. There may case where someone has service the power steering system and replaced the factory fluid with an aftermarket fluid which is green tinted in color.. Cant say that working 17 years at a 9 franchise dealership that I have ever seen green power steering fluid, but anything is possibile I guess, Reguardless that is not whats causing the car to not start. I would venture to say that since the power steering resivor and the radiator cap are a few inces from each other that your dad has accidently took off the wrong cap. The clicking when starting is either a weak battery (most likely) or a corroded cable situation at the battery.(possibile) or a defective starter (rare) Try jumping it with jumper cables... Then get the battery and charging sytem checked.. Hope this helps Sincerely Roger
The flasher does not stop the brake lights from working. Check # 18 fuse in fusebox under lower left side of dash. if it's ok, the brake light switch, on the brake pedal arm is next. light green wire with red stripe is hot if fuse 18 is ok. Depress brake pedal, light green with no stripe should have power. if not, replace brake light switch. If light green wire has power with pedal depressed, combination switch under the steering is next. Remove the cover from around the combo switch {under the steering wheel}. depress brake pedal, light green wire should have power. If it does, pedal still depressed, orange with light blue wire & wire with light green & orange should have power. Those 2 wires are brake & rear turn signal wires. { The turn signal switch should be in the middle, not right position or left. while checking for power in the last 2 wires. Good Luck drvolt.
I would re-install them myself, I liek them better, but you can try to find the air suspension control module. It is
usually mounted on the AC/Heater box and it will have a black connector and a
gray connector. Unplugging the black connector will turn off the “check
air suspension light” but it will also disable your power steering
tension (variable assist steering) control on the left side of the
steering column. So after you unplug the black connector you need to
remove the dark green/light green wire pin from the connector
and then reconnect that black connector to the module. That will disable
only the check air suspension light. Or to make quick work of it you
can just identify that black connector to the module and cut the green
wire. And be sure to isolate that wire because the “check air suspension
light” will come on if it touches ground.
Spin the rear wheels and make sure nothing such as a small stone is binding something up in the driveline. Check to make sure the motor has not gotten disconnected from the ESC. If you still have problems with it post again and I will try to look further into it.
This sounds like problem i had. Try to wiggle the steering wheel as you try to turn the key in the iginition. start lightly and if nothing works, wiggle it harder. This is the only solution that comes to mind...worked for me!
sorry, Good Luck!
i am leasing a car and there is some type of box with 3 red lights and 1 green on it. does anyone know what this is? it is located under the steering column
