Question about D-Link Wireless-G Notebook Adapter (WNA1330)

1 Answer

I have occasional freeze-up on my laptop with D-Link adapter inserted. Once frozen, removal of the adapter permits restart without loss of on-screen work. Is it possible I need a D-Link software upgrade because Microsoft XP was upgraded and the interface became incompatible?

It quite possible that you do require an upgrade for your adapter.and it`s also quite possible that some security may be blocking your adapter`s software so also try disabling the firewall and antivirus, take care.

Hi got a acer aspire 5315 frozen start up password how do i fix it

if the case is that your bios has a password set and you are not able to enter in the bios configuration mode to remove it the follow steps

go to the ASUS site and get to support page

look for your laptop model and download the latest bios file.

prepare a ms-dos booteable floppy disk, Cd or USB flash drive

copy the bios file to the booteable media together with the flashing program

insert the media in the laptop

Disconnect battery and Ac adapter

Connect USB Floppy drive or a USB Flash Drive or insert a Cd(whichever u choose).

Press [Fn]+[Esc] and plug In the Ac Power adapter, and then press Power button.

Release the buttons. Notebook should read the crisis disk. There will be no sounds, no beeps. It took about 2-3 minutes and notebook powered down itself.

Then plug in the battery simply power it on.

That's all. Now normal screen appears and acer is alive.

if the password is windows related the get a copy of ERD Commander and boot from the cd and follow steps.

first, you need to try to power on your laptop with another battery with the AC adaptor plugged in. if your problem was not solved you need to check the power jack on your mothernorad.

The laptop starts then black screen then restarts 25s later and it dosent stop.the hard drive maks a sound to.

The problem might be with the static charges on the motherboard, LCD screen, RAM or with the Hard Disk. Try the followings.

Remove Static Charges:
1. Disconnect the AC Adapter.
2. Remove the Battery.
3. Hold the Power button down for 30 seconds to 1 minute.
4. Reconnect the AC adapter and do NOT connect the battery now.
5. Turn on the Notebook power.

Still same, remove and reseat the RAM and Hard Disk. Check the below link for service manual.

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01602064.pdf

Refer to page 128 of 278 (Memory Module)
NOTE: If you have more than one memory module, you should test them individually to determine if one or both of them are faulty. Insert each module separately, then turn on the notebook to determine if the inserted module is working. Once you have determined which memory module is faulty, you can replace the faulty module and reseat the working module.
Refer to Page 123 of 278 (Hard Disk)

If still the same, you need to contact HP for hardware repair.

| | Installing this wireless adapter couldn't have fried the motherboard, right? ||I would not have thought so .. the software may have caused an issue --- as the PC boots tap F8 you should get a menu - choose "last known good configuration" ---- if that does not work, reboot and again tap F8 as it boots and this time choose safemode - then see if you can restore start>programs>accessories>system tools>system restore> choose a date to before the data you installed the wireless adapter software

System Freeze after WLI-CB-G54s is inserted

Restart your Compaq Evo N1020v laptop without the card inserted. Go into the BIOS (by hitting F10), change the UMA Frame Buffer Size from 32MB to 64MB (located in the Advanced menu), reboot and install the card drivers and insert thecard. This should fix the problem.

Targus Adapter is Freezing my computer!

This adapter is obviously not compatable with Vista as it was originally used in Win98, Win2000 and XP and there are no drivers on this site for Vista. http://www.targus.com/us/drivers_manuals.asp?SKU=ACB10US For the price of a new Vista compatible Bluetooth adapter it's not worth re installing another operating system as all adapters should have all the same uses as each other.
