Question about Gateway XHD3000 LCD TV
I have the exact same problem. Started out of the blue one day and then went away about 3 hours later. Now it's back again. I "chatted" with Gateway tech support and they told me that there is no problem with this monitor and that I was out of luck. I'm over the 1 year warranty so I guess I'm S.O.L. $1600 products should not just fail after 16 months.

Hi Revtech from Sri Lanka here. I posted a 100% working solution at this forum at the following link. Hope it helps.
And yes it can be repaired very easily.

Why are you people posting this stuff as solutions? If you don't have a solution don't post it in the solution area.
bammbammfran this is not a free advertising platform. If you don't want to help these people repair the monitor themselves, then go to another site. Stop just promoting your business.

@bammbammfran, I live in the UK so there's no way to avail myself of your services. Can you send me a private message at this e-mail address, email@example.com, so as to troubleshoot this issue?
I have the back panel off and the mainboard is exposed with the metal casing removed, so I'm good to go with regard to the connecting ribbons being exposed and available for manipulation.
Any help appreciated as the World Cup (11th June '10) is looming and I miss my HD monitor. :( sad face

Don't buy gateway! Buy Dell!

MartinNYC, do you work for Gateway?
I have the same problem, started shortly after the warranty expired.
Anyone know how to communicate with Gateway Renovation Group? Maybe they have a solution.

I had the a very similar issue. Fortunately it occurred with a couple months left on my warranty. I had to argue and fight my way up the customer service ladder for about 3 weeks before I got back $1000 of my $1500 purchase of the XHD3000. Honestly, I'm surprised no one has started a class action legal effort on this.
