What settings for underwater photos

Most camera's are not made to shoot under water. One of the most important things is an extended possibility for the white balance. Most DSC-T camera's only have some standard settings here, for daylight, cloudy and some light sources, like incandescent and fluorescent.
So even when you have a under water housing, you can't setup the camera for shooting under water. Sorry. Try a ruggedised camera, they are not that expensive and have everything you want.

Picturess are too green

there are advanced color correction modes,
Blue or dark pictures/videos
Keep your shooting distance inside of 2ft to 3ft, depending on
visibility and ambient light.
If you are using only one light, considering adding another light
(dual lights) or/and external flash accessory. The ideal
set-up is a combination of a light plus flash.
Consider purchasing the SeaLife Wide Angle Lens (SL975). The
fisheye lens allows you to get closer to the subject and fit more
into to picture frame.

For SeaLife camera with external light accessory (No external flash):
1) Set the camera's scene mode to Sea mode or Snorkel mode
2) Change camera's PHOTO and VIDEO White Balance
settings to DAYLIGHT.
For SeaLife camera with external light and flash accessories:
1) Set the scene mode to Ext. Flash mode
2) Change the VIDEO White Balance setting to DAYLIGHT.
For other underwater camera brands:
1) Set the Scene mode to "Auto" or "Underwater" scene
mode, as recommended by the camera manufacturer.
2) You may also need to change the White Balance setting to
DAYLIGHT depending on the camera's underwater color
correction or if pictures/video turns out red.

My gs500s colors are bright pink and i tried changing white balance and nothing works

Try going into "reset" master mode. otherwise you need to make sure your camera is shooting on the right setting for the light you are using. For example, when shooting in daylight with interior light setting (approx. 3200k) your photos will look off color and yellow or pink because sunlight is 5600k approx.,. . . contrary while shooting indoors with incandescant lighting if the camera is set for sunlight exposure (5600k) the picture will look blue. Make sure you read the manual on how to white balace, but first take the camera out of AutoExposure settings to do all the settings manually. Auto focus and auto exposure are for rookies and these types of errors will happen. Always try to do manual iris and manual focus for best results zoom in and get your focus on the subjects eyes then zoom out and frame up your shot.

Better photos in florescent lighting

You need to adjust the white balance setting.
This is on the shooting menu.

The options on the white balance presets are.
Flash, Cloudy, Daylight, Fluorescent, Incandescent
Fluorescent is what you are looking for.
Remember to change it back to auto for outdoor shoting.

Blank lcd screen when camera is on

No solution for your first problem but it's normal that you cannot view your photo on the LCD screen before actually taking it. Due to the way a reflex camera is built, you can't have a live view on your LCD. The Fuji S3 Pro has this type of preview as also most recent camera (Nikon D300, Canon 40D...).

Shooting mode will not operate

Your camera has a defective CCD imager. Please return the camera to Canon in New Jersey and they will replace the CCD at no charge to you. This is a known issue and should be covered under extended warranty. Good luck my friend. Joe Weibel customelectronics.org
