Compaq Presario SR1519X boot failure.

I have a Compaq Presario SR1519X and it is fairly old. The problem is that when it goes to boot it gets all the way to the Windows XP loading screen the restarts. It Keeps doing this so I am wondering do I need a stronger power supply. Please recommend one if I do.

This can happen if your windows xp copy is not licensed and the OS have automatically blocked you from using it. If that is the case you have to enter a proper license code or install a fresh copy of windows xp.

Hi i have a compaq presario laptop and after it stars up the screen just goes blank

Hi there,
do you still see the compaq logo and does it show you the windows boot up screen before it goes blank?
OR
do you see anything on the screen at all after pressing the power button?
Check if the laptop is receiving power. If it has power and you can't see anything on the screen it could mean that the LCD assembly or the Video card of your laptop is bad.
If it goes to the compaq screen and then to windows logo before going out, try booting into safe mode and once there uninstall the video driver from the device manager because that means the resolution was set to something higher than the display could handle.
If it restarts after showing the compaq screen try reseating the memory, hard drive and wireless card of your computer put them one by one and try turning the compter on after each part you put back to check which component is point of failure.
Otherwise you have a bad motherboard and it may have to be replaced.
Hope this helps!

Is there a way to upgrade the video output for a compaq presario sr1519x computer?

One option would be to purchase a video card. The motherboards onboard video is quite limited especially if pc is used for games. You can see if there is a driver update by right clicking on my computer and select manage then go into the device manager and click on to video. When you click on video you should have option to update the driver.

Wile I am trying to boot it up it goes in to a loop

Hello.

That error message usually refers to a hard disk failure. Your hard disk cable could be loose or faulty. Or, your hard drive would need to be replaced.

I'd suggest to check the cable and run your system's hardware diagnostics (often F2 or F12) when your system boots.

Hope this helps.

Your disk-drive has failed.
So, your computer tried to boot itself over the Ethernet network,
by "broadcasting" a request for booting. When either the network-cable was _NOT_ connected, or when _NO_ computer responded to the "broadcast" message, you get "PXE: media failure".

Take your computer to a qualified technician,
to remove the "dead" disk-drive,
to replace the disk-drive,
and to reinstall Windows.

Turn on goes to black screen

Can you access F10 bios - if you can access bios you have a hard disc failure - remove you hard drive - boot the system without the hdd and see if the pixie boot boot goes through - seen it before - your hdd is unservicable.

Still wont boot

Disk boot failure is usually a sign that your operating system has become corrupt in some way.
If you've got your Windows disc, put that in the CD rom, then boot the computer.
There's a "repair" option that you can select, instead of re-installed Windows.
That *should* fix the problem.
It's also (thought unlikely) possible that your hard drive has died completely.

Windows won't startup

Compaq and HP are having issues with certain model computers, mostly boot failure and not recognising the wireless card. Go to the website and see if your model is listed. They are doing a free one time fix for these models, even if out of warranty.
