Question about HP PSC 950 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Copying My machine is on all the time. I go to copy something and it states "warming up" and just never copies, unless I disconnect and reboot it maybe several times. It just seems to freeze up when I want to copy something.

My psc 950 does the same thing when either copying or scanning. It just says ...warming up.. in the window. I tried shutting it off. I have tried removing the connection through plug in strip, and I have reset the defaults. I am at a loss as to what to try next.

My never worked right from the beginning.

    I use it very seldom.

The only working function is printing. Scan and copy functions don't work.

Once in a while (god knows why) it works for a few copies or scans, then it goes into "Warming-up" mode and does not react on anything.

While this could be a good small office machine it is NOT.

HP could do better job on this one.

I have the same persistent problem with the PSC950, except in my case it scans fine, but takes FOREVER when copying a document. i tried a hard reset a few months ago which worked for a while, but the problem has resumed. Any suggestions welcomed.

Please explain if you are in netwrok.... also try this step.
Click on start button and select run if youhave Win XP.
Tye msconfig in the run window and click on ok.
Click on the startup tab and then disable all startup items.
Click on services tab and select hide all microsoft services.
Click on disable all. (Hide all microsoft services is imp - do not miss that)
Click on apply and reboot.
Now try working on your system and check if this issue resolves by itself.
If the issue gets resolved we need to check your services tab and start up items which must be causing thisissue.

also reply if you have norton installed...
Please explain in detail any error messages while you try to copy
Also explain if you have windows live care installed in your computer

There seems to be a grinding noice coming from the bottom of the copier. It will feed paper from either source, the tray or the manual feed, and then the copy gets caught and shuts down the copier and you...

Diagnosing noises over the internet is an impossible task unless it is a known problem on a particular model. usually grind noises are casued by something trying to turn something that wont. It maybe something as simple as a siezed drum. As you have not stated what model of copier you have, i am sorry but i cannot proceed any further.

I believe the copier is not warming up as needed to. the code h3-01 appeared on the display screen i have cleared the code but it is taking alot of time to warm up as if its stuck trying to warm up. what...

H3-01 = High temperature detection.

Your copier is warming up ok but for some reason the correct temperature is not being sensed and the machine is detecting 'overheat' and switching off.

First, check that there is no paper stuck inside the fuser unit - it may be blocking the temperature sensor (thermistor).

Does the fuser unit feel warm after the error code is displayed?

Try resetting the code:

P,*,C,*,14,[copy button] ( P,STAR,C,STAR,14,COPY BUTTON)

The machine should reboot.

Hope this helps.

The printer is stuck on warming up at startup.

Try to disconnect cable plugged into your copier including the power chord. Leave it like that for around 5 minutes, and then put everything back to its place. That shoulddo the trick.

Black pages when making a copy or printing something

Have you tried both drum and toner supplies? cause it sounds like a drum fault, if you have tried a new drum and toner, and it is doing it when printing internal reports, receiving fax's and copying then you have a tecnical issue to do with charge and this would likely render machine unecomical to repair (unless you can find a bad contact with drum on machine). If it receives faxs clearly but copys black then it is different issue (ie optics).

Cannot copy

Remove the colour cartridge and then see : "E" is displaying in its display board. If "E" appear then put it back in carriage and remove black cartridge. If "E" doesn't appear it means your black cartridge is not working properly. and vice versa with colour cartridge. This problem is belongs to cartridge. Try to change them. Problem will automatically solve
