Just an fyi, sounds like a common issue.. as I have the same issue all of a sudden. So all the mumbo jumbo about its "probably" this or that is wrong. It's the phone. Also I updated the software and firmware... n that just made it worse.
first you have to check if your phone supports gprs ie web access if then you have to enable mms service on your phone which your service provider will help you how to activate it try it
You'll have to call your service provider. The SIM card stores a phone number for the network's text message center. For some reason, this phone has a glitch where it deletes the center number. Your service provider might be able to update it remotely but I had to take the SIM out and place it in an older phone so I could enter the text message center number manually. This fixed the problem.
call ATT, mine did this same problem, and it for some reason got kicked off in the ATT system that i didnt have the correct messaging plan anymore. it sounds odd, but it fixed mine. good luck!
you may try a master reset after backing up to your PC if that doesnt work.
Hope this helps! pls dont forget to rate the solution!
I think the problem here is with your connection. I understand that you have the right settings from your operator...however you should check with them to see if your line is data enabled for MMS (this is how your pictures are sent....in an MMS message).
contact your network provider and ask for a sim update and a gprs install message, this will sort the problem, also you may need to change your message service cantre number, here are the following uk ones : Network operatorSMS Centre NumberO2 (Was BT Cellnet / Genie mobile)+447802000332 (contract) +447802092035 (pay as you go) Alt: +447802000334T-Mobile (was One2One)+447958879879Orange+447973100973 Alt: +447973100974Vodafone+447785016005Tesco Mobile+447802092035Virgin+4479588798903 / Three+447782000800
I have heard about this happening to unlocked phones on AT&Ts network. The best I can find is that the message is occuring because AT&T does automatic software updates based on your IMEI. The network checks on your phone at power up to see if any software updates are needed. If you are using an unlocked phone the IMEI is not one that AT&T has information on or your IMEI is not correct in the account. Motorola may be able to provide assistance in stopping the mesasage. or maybe AT&T can disable the updates.
