Question about HP Deskjet 6940 InkJet Printer
Sometimes you can reach under the printhead with a pencil or screwdriver tip and push back the cleaning assembly. That allows you to clean the cleaning assembly so it might not get stuck again. You need to find something solid to push on, directly under the print cartridges. You will hear the motor turning as you push gently.

Tips for a great answer:
Check the Encoder Strip (metallic) that runs the length of the printer in the back of the carriage. If it is loose the carriage will not line up correctly in the printer and cause the lights to flash. On the inside right of the printer behind where the carriage sets when you change the ink look to see if the metallic encoder strip has come off the hook. If so simply reattach it to the little metal hook and the printer should start working again.
