Trouble getting printer to print for first time after downloading the driver from the internet. Mac OS 10.4

Try to delete the Lexmark Z715 print object from the Print and Fax on your Mac 10.4. Then, add a new Lexmark print object. After successfully adding a print job, try to print a document again to verify that printing is working properly now.

Can a lexmark x7550 print to a mac?

Yes, the Lexmark X7550 support Mac & Windows too. You have to install the respective drivers versions for your Mac versions.

You can download the Mac OS versions drivers @ http://support.lexmark.com/index?locale=EN&page=product&userlocale=EN_US&productCode=LEXMARK_X7550#2

Make your Mac OS selections "Change OS" to proceed in downloading the correct Mac drivers for your System.

Hope it helps.

I downloaded the driver for a z600 printer, finished the installation process, but it does not appear on the driver list to be installed. I am using a new iMac

The Lexmark Z600 Series printer is only compatible on Mac 10.4 and previous versions. Unfortunately, there are no drivers for this printer for Mac 10.5 or Mac 10.6.

Here's the link to the Lexmark website where you can download the drivers. http://bit.ly/bIqb2u . On the page, click on the Macintosh dropdown to choose the version of your operating system (10.4, 10.5, 10.6, etc). To check the Macintosh version if it's 10.4, 10.5, 10.6, etc., click on the Apple icon on the upper left corner of your desktop. Then, click on About this Mac. Download and install the software.

Printer will not add to my computer

Ok, since you state that you have an older iMac, I'm going to presume that it is not an Intel-Mac and that your OS X version is Linux based. So with that information known, you will just have to search for the printer (Lexmark 3400) drivers for the version of OS X you are currently running. Since the older Mac's use CUPS instead of drivers that PC's use. Basically instead of searching in Google for a Lexmark 3400 print drivers for an iMac, you would need to instead search Google for CUPS Lexmark 3400 OS X. Then you would get a link like this:

http://fixunix.com/ubuntu/505065-lexmark-printer-ubuntu.html

And if you follow that link you would get to download the needed file(s). And usually the installation instruction is there on the same site. It is a bit confusing to figure it all out but if you get lost there come back and post it here and someone will help. And if i happen to come across you i will be glad to help with the confusing manual installation of the CUPS into your iMac.

Macbook, lexmark f4270 driver

Apparently, the drivers for your printer is bundled in with the MAC OS CD. There are no MAC drivers on the Lexmark for your model. And the 4200 series should work.
Follow the instructions below.
Installing the bundled driver
Plug and Play
Steps Action 1 Power on the printer. 2 Plug the USB cable into the printer and into the Mac. 3 The Mac OS will automatically create the printer queue and install the printer.
Manual installation

If you plugged in the USB cable and the print queue was not created, follow these steps:
Steps Action Illustration 1 Plug the USB cable into the printer and into the Mac. ... 2 Launch System Preferences and select Print & Fax. Image 3 Click + to add the printer. Image 4 Select the printer, click Print Using and select your printer from the list. Then click Add to create the printer object. Image 5 Once the printer has been added, close System Preferences. The printer is now ready to print. Image
Troubleshooting
If you installed the driver from the printer·s installation CD or from a web download, uninstall it and follow the instructions below for recovering the driver from the Mac OS 10.5 (Leopard) CD.
Steps Action Illustration 1 Uninstall the installed driver. ... 2 Delete the Lexmark folder found in Library/Printers.
... 3
Insert the Mac OS 10.5 (Leopard) CD to recover the bundled driver and then click Optional Installs. Image 4 Click Optional Installs.mpkg. Image 5 Go through the installation process. ... 6 In the Optional Installs screen, select first Printer Drivers and then Lexmark Printer Drivers. Image 7 Click Continue and complete the installation process. ...
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe
