Question about HP Pavilion dv2210us Notebook
Hello I have an HP Pavillioon dv2210 us. It will not to Windows. No video.
There is power to the laptop wit hbattery adn AC Power supply. Shows blue lighting on keyboard. Can hear hard dive start up. Reseated memory, hard drive, and CMOS battery. No joy. Connected to external VGA monitor. No video.
Checked intergrity of hard drive. Can read hard drive using hard drive caddy.
I contacted hp about this problem since i saw many other models had the same issue and were replaced.. ..this model did not belong to any free replace/free repair lists and a motherboard chanche would've cost 900+€, so i came up with a perfect solution: 1. Place the computer on top of two 2 inch high iron tubes/bricks/anything hard enough and leave a gap between them. 2. Take a sledgehammer and release all of your frustation-caused force, hitting the middle of the laptop and the gap.. 3. Go buy a new laptop and make a double check it is not a hp/compaq product ;)

You have done all the right tests and this tells me you have a faulty video card or faulty RAM. The video chip on most laptops use part of the RAM modules, take the RAM to your friendly computer shop to test the RAM. If the RAM is OK then you definitely have a faulty video card/chip which is part of the motherboard.
The fix is a motherboard replacement, but this may not be a cost effective solution, maybe better to put your money towards a new laptop/notebook.
