It's asking if you want to update firmware, firmware is the softer internal to the printer that tells it how to work / behave / communicate. this is sometimes updated by the manufacturer.

sounds like you are in the service menu...if you press the cancel buttons, or shut it down and restart the printer it should return to normal operations.
