To support the door, Fisher & Paykel for instance have a spring on each side of the body of the dishwasher, which breaks every few years. Only one side needs to break for the door to fall down.

Systems vary from brand to brand but something of this sort has happened.

There are springs and pulleys that assist the door. They use a nylon rope that is very thin to connect the pulleys door and springs. The rope is most likely broken.

Seriel PAA41010 dishwasher does not dissolve tablets

Tablets dissolve in the water, normally by the drawer opening and the tablet falling out into the wash. Is the door sticking (tablet door not loading door) or is the wash arm not spinning freely or blocked? These can interfere with the cycle

I own a Bosch home Dishwasher - Model SGV53E03GB-74 - where the wash tablet discharge cavity opens in the wash cycle but doesn't allow the tablet to drop, so the wash is ineffective and needs

Sounds like the dispenser door isn't opening. If it isn't being blocked by dishes, the dispenser door spring might be broken, the dispenser release solenoid could be faulty, or not getting power from the control panel. While you're waiting for it to get fixed, you can just put the detergent in the bottom of the dishwasher and run it on normal cycle. It also possible the dispenser door isn't opening wide enough for the puck to fall out. Make sure the door opens freely under it's own spring assist.

Problem with door falling open too far

Hello friend, thank you for your post!

I understand that your Frigidaire dishwasher door is falling open too far. It could be a potential issue with your hinges or door. I would highly recommend reaching out to a professional for further assistance in properly diagnosing the issue with the door. If you have any further problems please feel free to reconnect. -Matt

Whirlpool dishwasher door falls open fast when opening. plastic part came off, but don't know where it is from

remove the bottom access covers on the bottom of dishwasher. turn on the dishwasher with water valve in off position so you can here the motor running, while its on, find the breaker and turn off power.you will here motor stop. disconnect power wires from power box on right hand side, then disconnect water line open the dishwasher door and at the top remove screws holding dishwasher in place. pull dishwasher out from bottom.you may have to adjust bottom adjustable screw legs. pull it out and check sides where springs are for the door to open and close. it may have came loose.

Falls open when? This unit wom't operate unless the door is secure so I assume you mean the door assist springs are disconnected or broken and the door just falls heavily to the open position after you unlatch it from the closed position. Try these, part 18 here

should attach to frame in an easy to distinguish hole or slot and to door hinges, number 2 here

Almost at the end of the wash cycle the door falls open, not just unlock but actually fall right open

on most all dishwashers on the very bottom on each side is a pulley like system with two springs one for each side along with a small piece of rope or cord that stretches the spring open and closed as you open and close the door if your door is falling opened most likely you would have to replace these lower pulleys as well as the springs what is the model number of your machine if you have any further questions please message me back and thanks again for using fixya please also note this fix is on most all dishwashers i am currently not able to see your model number so i cannot specify exactly for your machine Thanks again Rick

KitchenAid Dishwasher KUDSO2FRSS

I recently had the same problem. One of the cords that attaches the door to a spring had snapped. I purchased cord replacments at the following URL and completed the repair myself. http://www.repairclinic.com/SmartSearch/SSPartDetail.aspx?PartID=1059756&PPStack=1

Kitchaide Dishwash Door

There is normally 2 heavy springs & cables that control the "falling" of the door located in the bottom of the machine or it the door itself. Sounds like one (or both) have snapped.
