Change the capacitor. also check to see if the right amount of volts are getting to the unit. look at the contact and put your meter on the appropiate sides and see if its 220-240. if it is, good, then change your capacitor. If not, then stop and call someone who knows what they re doing with electricity. its supposed to get 220-240. if its only getting 110 or so, then your electric co. has a problem. you might want to let it set for a while and try to turn it back on and see eaht happens.......... aint no pro but had the same problems..............

Hi!!

This means that the condenser fan motor (outside unit) failed, this caused to build hi pressure and either activated a safety valve to release the extra pressure or blew a line and R22 Refrigerant escaped from system.

The fix is to replace motor fan and capacitor find the leak and refill system with R22 Refrigerant Gas. It is safe to turn on the Fan Only mode on the Thermostat until a HVAC Tech arrives.
To perform this job parts and labor included will cost: about $300 -.$400. Look on the Yellow Pages for a Tech in your neighborhood.

Fan not working on outside AC unit

The buzzing noise is probably the fan motor. Is the compressor running? First make sure that there are no tripped breakers. After that kill the power and check the capacitor with a multimeter. If that checks good then check the fan motor windings with the multimeter. Let me know if you have any questions.

A/c outside not working

The buzzing noise is your contactor drawing in from your thermostat. The fan part of your unit is on a different circuit from your outside A\C unit. Your thermostat is the conductor of the orchestra tying ths units together. It may well be that your A\C circuit breaker has tripped, if it has there is a reason for it's tripping. Resetting the breaker by turning it off then on may get your unit running, but a technician needs to ascertain why it tripped. Or it could be a bad contact switch inside the outside unit not letting enough electricity through the switch. More than likely the first issue. Good Luck

Fan will not work on outside unit.

Check the voltage to the contactor coil, it will do that if the voltage is low. This is the 24 volt part.

Goodman air conditioner will not turn on outside

When ever you hear a buzzing like you are hearing means one thing one of the fuses on the outside disconnect box is bad. Only getting 1/2 the power. Find the bad fuse and get the same size and will be good to go. ken
