Question about Ics Hop Up Bucking for Airsoft Guns
Yeah its a winding mag, not spring, what you need to do is pour in your bb's and there should be a wheel on the bottom of the mag, wind it until it makes double clicks thats when youll know its done, then fire eventually it wont fire then just wind it again; I hope you and your son are practicing safely the last thing you want is you or your sons eye penetrated by a bb and from the sounds of it your son maybe young cause if he is i suggest a trigger lock, dont want him running around the neighborhood with it do you?

Its not the firing pin, if this is an air soft rifle, which i assume it is you haven't fully loaded the bb's into the cartridge. you should insert the bb's into the cartridge until it is full then crank the wheel on the bottom until it applies an amount of resistance. This should solve the problem, ironically me and my son had this same problem earlier today.

It sounds like you are having problems with the firing pin.
