Question about NetGear DG834G Router

Netgear vpn824 v2 won't reset; wired works; wireless not

We have a Netgear vpn824 v2 wireless router. We've tried resetting it several times, won't reset (pushed the button in the recessed hole, held it, etc.). The computer directly plugged into it works. Wireless connections do not. Any ideas or recommendations of things to try? Thank you.

Thank you for this info - unfortunately it didn't help. We are unable to log in to it for some reason - using our setup user name and password, as well as the admin/password or admin/blank.

I thought I did - where do I do this? I rated it as being accurate info - which I know it was - but that it was not helpful because of the situation - can't remember the words they use.

Hi,

you have already rated him don't worry about it.

So you have tried holding down the reset button for 30 seconds?

When you then look for wireless networks with a computer in your house, does the netgear come up? Are you able to connect to it? what happens? do you receive a error message?

My Netgear WPN824 wireless router stopped working. With the exception of the internet LED (which doesn't come on at all), all of the lights are blue and doing sort of a slow, pulsating blink. No m

The RESET button is for resetting the wireless section of the router and does not effect the Internet connection.
It looks like the wireless access is faulty especially when you cannot reset and configure the wireless settings.
Try powering off the Netgear for 10 mins the connect the power again.
If you still cannot RESET the Netgear then it is faulty and you need a new wireless router.

NO connection to internet

Power off your router wait a couple of minutes turn it back on and try again. If its been several years you might want to look in to buying a new router.

Well it seems that you have uploaded the firmware on the router using wireless connection. The firmware on the router has corrupted and now does not seem to be recoverable.

Dude if it is under warranty then get it replaced. To log a complaint with NETGEAR go to this site:

http://my.netgear.com

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.

If I have helped you, please help me, and rate this suggestion the highest FixYa rating. If you cannot rate this post with the highest rating, then please comment to this post and I will try to help you further.

Can no longer pick up router signal

Does the wireless light still lit on the router? You can try changing the channel on the router (1 6 or 11) ans moving the antenna. If those things did not work upgrade the firmware of the router and reset to factory default. Do not forget to save the configuration file before you reset to factory default.

Problem with wireless from Netgear wgt624 v2.

Do you have 2 router? a wireless one and one thats not?

If thats the case, try just plugging in the wireless. if your connection is automatic it will detect the connection and give you an internet connection

If its not you must configure the IP manually.

But you must only USE ONE ROUTER..

On most model Netgear wireless routers there is a reset button on the back of the router which reset the router back to the default factory settings. The location of this button is printed on the label.

Power off the router, press and hold the reset button (you need a sharp pen), power on the router, wait several seconds and release the reset button. You can now configure the wireless router again using the default admin login.
