Question about Haier HTE14WAA Top Freezer Refrigerator

I have a Samsung model RS265LABP side by side ref/free. after you plug it in it works fine for a couple of days. Then it sounds like a small fan under and in back is hitting it's blade on something, like ice build up. The temp starts going up untill it will not keep thing cool. The digital display on the front showes "0" deg.for the freezer, and "43" deg. for the fridg. It seemes to effect the fridg. side more than the freezer. If you take the center panel out of the inside back of the fridg I have found ice build up inside of this as well. What can I do? I like this unit, but what a pain! Thanks for any help.

Usually there are two things that go wrong on this fridge.

1. Little fan in the freezer that pushes cold air into the fridge section will freeze up. Bracket it is in has some weird incline angle and is prone to icing up. There is a new updated part that is at a different angle and condensation has a chance to drip off before freezing.

2. Flap motor that opens and shuts flaps that let cold air into the fridge section will stick closed. If you lube it or just replace it.

Otherwise if both of these parts are fine which I doubt then you probably have a defrost timer problem but I am betting from what you gave me that the above two things are the problems.

I remember that kind of symptoms happens before on my side by side ref..Try to check the coil on refrigerator side if it is iced up ..

Take this steps on how to:
  1. Open the refrigerator side.
  2. Remove the 11 screws on it..
  3. Get the hair drier..
  4. use the hair drier to slowly melt the iced behind the cover.
Note: If you pull too hard and or too soon you'll break the Styrofoam ducting that has to be around the coil. then make sure that the drain line is clear reassemble..

RS265LABP freezer works but fridge doesn't.


if the evap fan motor isn't running then most likely this is you rproblem

How hard is it to change the refrig side fan motor? Its making a racket! noise stops when door is open, fan shuts off The motor is inside behind a couple of panels. samsung RS265LABP


Sears parts department has a huge library of breakdowns of many appliances from all major brands. I ran your model number and it is included. The line drawings allow one to fairly accurately judge the location and access to internal parts:

You should be able to replace your fan using the illustrations and in many cases, the correct part can be ordered from those pages.

GE side by side refrigerator. Fridge side not cooling - help!


Hi, they have changed lots of parts, were they defected, did they tested parts for faults or they just change parts, because it's available, there's always a reason why a certain part, go bad. so far you change most of parts in ref. check refrigerant (gas, freon) pressure, check compressor, for faulty suction and high side valve, it's possible your compressor loosing efficiency. or say if compressor normally pump 50 psi. now it's pumping 40 psi. is the refrigeration cycle balance ? is there restriction in your ref. system? is compressor running long enough? plug on ref. let it run for 1hr, listen to compressor for any clicking sound, fans and everything else could be working, be compressor not, compressor could be short cycling (not working long enough) also check voltage in receptacle(outlet) with digital multi-tester, get accurate voltage reading, let me know, could also be a faulty circuit breaker in house (building) not your ref. let me know, system could have very slow refrigerant leak, you could have a very small (slow) gas leak, that's why your refrigerator get hot first, then your freezer, there's a condensate line (loop) that passes through, ref body, close to doors to prevent door gasket from freezing, after few years sometimes develope leaks, cause by rusting. it's very possible there could be small leak in your system. let me know what happened.good luck.

Making noise and not cooling properly , when you open the door the noise comes to a stop like the fan slowing down


Your unit isn't defrosting. Your fan blade is hitting the frost that is built up in the back of your unit. All Samsung units are made when you open the door that the fan stops. You can check this but finding your door switch and see if the sound still continues. But you will need service and a part to fix this unit. Where are you located? Are you taking too much ice in too short time? The freezer needs some time to freeze the water to form cubes. Another reason is that the water supply line may be blocked by air bubbles. Ensure that the water supply is adequate.

Whirlpool Ref shuts down


It sounds like to me its your defrost timer(usually under 20.00) that is bad. Yhe are very inexspensive and easy to get to.You can purchase one AT YOUR LOCAL SEARS or online with your model # Glad to be of service

Fridge evap freezing over


A friend had a similar problem; he found that the compressor was
getting overheated. He fixed an axial-fan inside the control box
to keep the compressor cool, and things worked out OK.
