It's leaking 'current' and the GFCI can sense it. Dry pump out thoroughly and open it up and see if it's wet inside. Needs to be dry and reseal

Gfi outlet trips right before the final spin cycle. This is on a top load kenmore 80 series washer. I replaced the timer but the problem still exists. The timer seems to be in a pause mode. In other words,...

Motor driven appliances can trip GFI outlets when there is no problem at all with the appliance. When a large motor first starts, it draws more current for a short time and some GFI outlets will trip (others may not).

Are GFI outlets required by code in your state/county for washing machines? If not, replace the GFI with a standard outlet. If so, replace GFI with a higher quality GFI outlet.

How to stop my whirlpool washer from tripping gfi

If it is tripping the GFI I would say you have created a short somewhere. Check that wire has not been braised, check the plug for signs of burning, check outlet for signs of burning. Plug another device into the outlet to see if something else trips the GFI. If something else trips it then you could have a bad GFI outlet. These are the basics to try first but could be a number of things beyond this.

Purchase new 32'' tv 2-day ago, will not work in a GFI plug outlet trips GFI each time you reset, is there something wrong with unit? works fine in a non GFI outlet

Good News!!! GFI outlets are made to trip when a large amount of power is pulled through them. A GFI is basically a small circuit breaker.Your television set is probably just pulling more amperage than the GFI is rated to handle. That means the GFI is working properly And so is the TV!

10 year old air compressor cuts off at 10psi

hello, if you plug the compressor into a none gfi outlet does the compressor still cut off ? it could be one a short in your compressor causing the gfi to trip our your gfi has a ground try the compressor in a diffrent outlet, when you use any other electronic equipment on the gfi does it still trip ? if you use the compressor in a diffrent outlet that's none gfi this should sholve your problem most likely a bad gfi outlet or the compressor is drawing to much amp's.

Rule H53sp-24 pool cover pump trips GFI breaker

GFI devices are prone to degrade over time. Also, when used outdoors there are additional moisture issues that may cause sufficient current leakage to trip the breaker.

I had a similar problem this Spring. I was using a 20 amp GFI "master" outlet that protected two additional outlets 'downstream' of it (wired to the 'load' terminals on the GFI outlet- I'd have the check the doc. to see what terminology was used here). The pump was plugged into one of the downstream outlets.

Replacing the GFI seemed to solve the problem. I did ante up $20 for an 'outdoor' model of the 20 amp GFI unit, several bucks more than the standard 'indoor' unit - have no ideal if that represented additional value or not.

Note also, that this is the third such pump I have used for my pool cover. The other two failed to come on at all after about a year's use. The mfg replaced them under warranty (I may have had to send back the old pump - I forget!).
