Question about Acer Aspire One PC Notebook
My touchpad mouse won't work. it does not respond to touch
If you are using XP, check your mouse settings under Control Panel. Make sure that your Touch Pad is enabled. If it is but it still won't work, have a mouse plugged into a USB port that will work correctly. Then download the latest driver from the Acer site for your touchpad. Uninstall the driver that is currently being used by your system. Then install the updated driver that you downloaded. This should allow you to use your Touch Pad. If not, you may have to take your laptop in for servicing.

Reinstall the touch pad driver.
Lauch Acer Erecovery manager and you will get a list of drivers there.
Reinstall the touchpad drivers. That should fix the issue.
Let me know if you have any issue.

Sometimes, the correct drivers are the actual problem. I see it with a bunch of Hewlett Packards. Anyway, try switching the mouse driver from the trackpad to a generic Microsoft mouse driver, and that usually restores function.

SOURCE: Mouse is not responding at all
you need to go to device manager...
right click "my Computer"
select "device manager"
click the + sign for "mice and other pointing devices"
select your touch pad...
try to enable it or find what is wrong from there
You'll need a USB mouse or something of that ilk to do it.
